We got unlucky with Kylin Hill getting knocked out AND fumbling the ball. This game would have been perfect for him given the amount of carries he would have had. Dillion Johnson and Marks are going to be good, but they aren't any where near Kylin right now. Both dependable, but none have that twitch and power Kylin has, but both are good and I like what I've seen from them. Not having Kylin really hurt us.
KJ is careless with the football. He forced a couple passes last night you'd see a typical freshman making. I'm not sure what KJ was thinking on a few of those, and also against LSU quite frankly, but he's got to understand the importance of taking care of the football. Sadly, Felipe Franks put a clinic on last night about how to not make the stupid pass. I think Will Rogers may be coming in soon if KJ doesn't get it together.
There's a lot of talk about how the zone stifled us. It certainly caused problems, but the way around it is what the announcer said last night: PATIENCE. With a 3 man front we're going to be able to run it and we did. I was glad to see us hand the ball off a lot, perhaps we should run it more and that's where Kylin would have made a huge difference, but you've got to be patient! Our WRs and QBs haven't been practicing this offense long, but they did adjust and get open in the second half, you just have to remain patient the whole game as the QB to let the WRs find the soft spot. They did it in the second half, but KJ still made some terrible throws into coverage. #7 for Arkansas had the two easiest interceptions he'll ever get in the SEC. Can't do that. KJ has all day to throw. Our OL is pretty solid at pass protection. KJ or our QB must remain patient.
I honestly think we'll be fine. We were told how awesome we were all week and now we have a wake up call. Defense played well at times, but didn't tackle well. They flew to the ball, but missed some tackles. I think Arkansas is a lot better and they appear to have some good coaching too, so it's not like this was the Arkansas of old, but we still beat ourselves.
