Multiple Vb players showed up to a closed training table so it wasn’t just one player to didn’t get the memo

Piss poor job of communication from athletic department and VB leadership (Trev and Cook)

But as is typical the blame over what was a failure in the male leadership will be transferred to the female players by the misogynists in the fanbase
Amen. After two decades of watching the Nebraska athletic department **** itself at every single turn.... I guess it's completely reasonable to assume that they did everything right here and it's just some whiny VB players? Always fun to watch the "fan"base turn on a Husker legend here.

Now this is funny.
Lauren Stivrins handled this poorly. However, she is a winner, and she can say whatever she wants. Mid 90's Huskers would've tweeted the craziest ****, and filmed the Riley Washington drive by on Instagram. But they won, so they could do whatever they wanted. Plus, Stivrins looks way better than Christian Peter.

When the pics and videos came out about the training facilities for the women's NCAA bracket, that was worthy of complaining about - a major screw up by the NCAA.
I don't think this tweet was meant to be funny. There were 26 or 27 better options to have chosen to deal with this than what she chose, hopefully it is a good learning opportunity for all.

I disagree you don’t take a shot at the AD and the university that gave you a free education and so much more i the years you were there. And the shot at your fellow student athletes in another sport.especially when you were wrong about the situation.it was a no class tweet!

Tweet from Michaelson said it was communicated well in advance and this happens every year. So, if that is all true, they Stirvins will probably not have a very good week. Poor choices can have serious consequences.

Again, why Stivrins? As far as I can tell she’s playing volleyball in Italy. She’s no longer on the team, so I don’t know why she took it upon herself to chirp at the football team and the AD.

If indeed, this was probably communicated to the volleyball team, I’d like to see a statement from Cook to clarify.

The fact that Stivrins took the tweet down means she knows she stepped in it. Probably butt hurt that the big NIL dollars came rolling in a couple of years after she left.

Or the people who were in charge of effectively communicating the training table schedule variation could have actually done their jobs. Perhaps this volleyball day in America is just too big of a logistic undertaking if they can’t even handle the routine day to day management of the program

What's the proper way to act now? Throwing a big hissy fit or act like an adult and ask questions as there's most likely a reasonable explanation?

Hey guy, get with the times, this is the 21st century. We aren’t raising adults anymore, we are raising physically matured children. Who cry perpetually about everything, are offended every moment of the day, see every action as a micro-aggression, and believe life has been excessively unfair to them.

If you cannot tell that this was staged, I feel bad for you. Literally every girl in the picture has a surprise look on their face. Even the one around the corner. It was almost as if they said everybody say cheese.

One girl had a pouty face. I heard she tried to grab a piece of bacon, but Rhule jumped out of nowhere and slapped it out of her hand while in his best soup Nazi impression said “no bacon for you!”

So either the volleyball players lied to her, knowing she would jump off the freaking crazy train. Which would make them total ********. Or they told her what was going on and she took it upon herself to tweet out some funny ****. either way again a big nothing burger.

I guess you missed the tweet from a media member that explained that this happens every year and it is communicated to all teams. Some staffs choose to take money from their own budget and have food catered in for their athletes. Rhule and his staff did have food catered in for their team, John Cook and his staff did not. I have quoted the post that had the tweet below, so you can educate yourself.

Yes, I do.

I do not believe the players lied to her. And I think she was very much aware that the training table was closed this week, and that the food was for the football players. I think people are far too ******* sensitive and she knew it. I think she knew that every football fan would overreact and she got the reaction she wanted. The fact that anybody is offended is more funny than the original tweet.

Are you her dad or relative being pretty protective of her . If it was a joke I don’t think she would have added the Tags.

I am not being protective. I just don’t give a ****, neither should most people. The girls showed up and staged a photo. Someone else decided to take it further. I just don’t see the big deal deal.

LOL! "#womensright", ROFLLLLL

I get she's pissed & that's understandable. Just stop being so dramatic...
The regular posters on this board including me should be the last people telling anyone else to stop being so dramatic.

Btw, VB team better watch themselves. Trev is gonna cancel their program and lock them out while they’re out winning another national championship. It’s kinda his thing.
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Oh, wait...

I thought the tweet was funny. And it’s all the freaking crazy *** people who can’t take a joke. If I had to venture a guess, I would say some of the current volleyball players wanted to be funny but and didn’t want the smoke of doing it themselves, so they got Stivrins to do their bidding.
Was it a joke?

Hard to tell these days.

Truth hurts. Hope the boys finally get it together this season.
Six straight losing seasons. Not even close to a winning season in that span. And all the while, the football team has collapsed and given up when the going gets tough.

The last thing I'm going to do is get super sensitive about some tweet pointing all of that out. I swear there are posters on this board that spend their entire day getting offended.

I suppose if you are prone to faux outrage, and having your feelings hurt, it’s easy to be offended and upset with this brutal tweet.
It seems she may be the one prone to faux outrage. At the very least the joke didn't land.

I don't care one way or the other. I've never watched the volleyball team play, regardless of #winningrecord.

If you read the tweet as a joke, as I did, I don’t see it as faux outrage. I see it as a way for her to poke fun at the football team while sticking up for her former teammates as they pose for a staged photo.
