I don't like this stuff at all...

How many OAD are playing in the Final Four?

It's not the way to sustain excellence in a program...IMO

We are consistently becoming a first weekend exit from the tourney...

I don't care how talented a freshmen is coming in anymore or how many...

This is becoming rinse and repeat year to year...and most every year we bow out and don't even watch the second weekend of the tournament with Duke in it...

I know others feel differently....it's just how I feel about it....

I think you'd be surprised with how many share your opinion...I raise my hand in agreement with all your points above.

It is what it is. You can hold your breath until your face turns (royal) blue. Things will not change as long as K is in charge.

I've heard rumblings that Coach K's family is trying to get him retire, thus a main reason so many are bailing.

Wouldn't blame him IF he did. Man has been thru a lot & seen a ton of changes. He's adapted but if we are frustrated with system that's in place, how do you think he feels?

How about let's actually wait until it's official before people start panicking ...good god you would think people would have developed a little confidence by now!! 5 titles later ...there's always a plan.... at worst everybody will leave and me and everybody else will get there wish and k will play his bench !! Lmao!' And develope a core and suffer through a couple down years... hahahaha na k wants to win now ! He's no rebuilder ...but I guarantee u he's not in the dark like us ..he's probally had a good idea who's leaving for a while. I think we'll be surprised in a good way when it's all said and done and happy :) new fans chill ....I think the rest are staying for 1 last run!!'nnn leggo!!!!! And remember guys can still withdraw

Alex O'Connell will help espn out on that front. I don't think he is at Allen or Kennard's level yet but he will be a good one in time

I don't care who we lose. As long as we get Duval I'll be just fine. Duke succeeds when they have a real point guard running the team. He's a Kyrie clone but more athletic, but not as good a shooter. I'll take it. I would say get a big man grad transfer but we know Coach K won't let him play. So that would be very pointless. Coach K is actually better when he's short on talent. Not sure he can handle too much talent. Give him a clear 8 and he will make something shake

Duke is its own worst enemy in this for a few reasons. One, of course, getting top 5-10 talent means they are likely to go to the NBA - though that is not certain. And we have been getting those because of K's rep.

But, I think there is another factor: for whatever reason, the NBA loves Duke players in the draft. If a kid has a solid season at Duke (Kennard; even Grayson last year could have gone top 20), NBA ready or not, he's going to be a 1st round pick. On the other hand, UNC is making two straight final fours because their guys - while talented - are not speculated quite so high. Some of those guys who stayed there were viewed as potential 1st rounders coming out of high school.

If Allen and Kennard both leave who will be Duke's most hated player by unc nation. Vrank, White or O'Connell. OFC

You know what you're right. Duke players getting that respect now. Get paid lil homies get paid! Bring in the next crew. That's just what it's going to be from now on

I think it could end up being Frank Jackson because there's 2 type of Duke players that get hated on: 1) the really good/great players that play with an attitude/chip on their shoulder and 2) the really good players even if they don't play with an attitude/chip on their shoulder...I get a feeling that Frank will end up fitting into the second category

Coach K isn't retiring until he gets one more national title for Duke.

I was hoping you'd come too lol we could take em!

I didn't say anything the last time you guys were talking about this kinda thing, but it just goes to show that we have VASTLY different types of friends. I'd say 90% of my Facebook friends who are UNC fans are Trump supporters and Republicans in general while 90% of them who are Duke fans are Democrat. I could name quite a few well-known THR posters who are no doubt Republicans, too.

So, many are anticipating us losing, in total...

Jeter
Bolden
Giles
Obi
Jefferson
Jackson
Allen
Kennard
Jones

So our top nine guys in total minutes played, and Obi. Roughly 260 TOTAL minutes played will be returning, and that includes walk ons. Only roughly 70 points TOTAL scored by the guys who are left

Has any Duke team lost so many guys? Have many teams EVER lost that many? Maybe a few of Cal's UK teams?

This would be pretty damn stunning.

Coach K is now transferring! Going to be be Roy's assistant next year. :D

Ok lol I'd say this boards main group of posters are Trump supporters outside of maybe 3 that I can think of that are "regular"

And all my friends carolina or Duke people or Tennessee people or Kentucky or Clemson or state are trump supporters. I don't hang around LOSERS :D

Well folks, there sure is some interesting comments in this entire post! I think because of the crazy season we just had, people tend to panic at any little thing that is said. I still haven't recovered from our Tourney loss, but hey, it's over. Let's don't believe everything we hear about a mass exodus!
I really don't want to see anyone leave, but we pretty much knew that Tatum, Giles, and Luke would go. They are projected top 20 picks, and should go. Other than the Srs., anyone else that wants to go, we need to wish them the best in their future.
It is all good for board discussion, as long as we don't get angry at each other about why someone is leaving.
I think we all just need to take a "Chill Pill" and keep this in mind: We will have good kids coming back; we are getting good recruits; we are Duke; and the most important thing for everyone to remember is: IT'S GONNA BE OK!!!!!!!!!
Go Duke!

We'll find enough players to field a team, and we'll win or lose with them. And I suspect we'll win a lot more than lose. If the cheerleaders have to play, so be it I'll still be a Duke fan.

And as far as K retiring right now...I don't see that happening at all...unless it's his health. The recruits, especially the one and dones are coming for K just as much, if not more than Duke. I don't think he would renege on his obligation to them. So, I don't think K will just leave without incoming recruits knowing in advance that's he planning to retire (again, unless it's health related).

That's the way we all should feel. If the Duke program does see some down time in the future it will be interesting to see who's left standing among us. I promise I will be here and I feel most all of you will be standing with me. OFC

I know there's been speculation about Frank leaving, and heaven forbid lets hope he stays. The only reason I could see him leaving (or his dad orchestrating such a move) is a glut of players at the perimeter positions.

Duval at the point (if we get him), Grayson AND Luke returning + Trent.Conceivably it could limit his PT from where he and/or his dad thinks it should be, but thats the only scenario I could foresee.

As frustrated as I may get, and I'm not crazy about the system of one and dones, these times are better to me than 05-09. You guys are right, Duke is still Duke
