I don’t follow the game threads, I’m focused on the game and they are too distracting (and moronic). Like I said, I check in at halftime and postgame. As for the manifestos, I used to read them, but then determined that if I’m going to invest that amount of time reading a postgame analysis, I want to read it from an actual, you know, journalist.

Wasn't on the game thread today, but this seems to be the prevailing attitude with some Rutgers fans. Needless to say it pisses me off. Time for some of these wheenies to find another team to follow.

I am so proud of the guys for the way they came and played in the second half. Maryland shot 16 foul shots and RU only one in the first half and RU had 11 turnovers. The second half RU more than doubled Maryland by 43-21 to win by 11 on the road. That is a huge comeback and Fatts Russell throwing an elbow as a grad student at Jalen Miller was a cheap shot that he got away with. I am so glad that RU made the huge comeback. We will be home on Wednesday. GO RU.
I agree. There is a limit on how you attack these guys. I have been on these boards for many years, and only once before, in the 2010–2011 season, did I attack a poster personally for attacking a player personally. That was when someone called a player a “mental midget.“ The comment today was even more despicable, and not just because of the fact it was directed at a player.

The point is some posters tend to panic at the first sign of trouble and show they don't truly believe in the team..
But that's understandable because the RU MBB program hasn't been something to believe in for a long long time before Pike took over.
Reading today's Maryland game thread makes me think of what Carino said when was talking about how RU fans acted during the Michigan game :

The people bringing back up the LIAR and Fire Pike (Hitre Pitino) threads are the toxic part of this. And this thread is another example of that.
If people go too far in criticisms then they will be shown to be wrong and most people can read and ignore the ridiculous posts. But bringing this kind of thing again and again makes it all about the posters here and not about the Rutgers teams.
I don't often criticize while the game is live.. but the Penn State game deserved criticism.. live or afterward. This game.. my take on the first half was that we had too many TOs.. that PM should have seen the bench very early.. after his second unforced error.. just to get his head on straight... but it was the refs who deserved the bulk of the criticisms.. and we know how people hate talking about the refs here.
BTW.. how many times is it now that we played very poorly one game just to come back with a strong effort the next game? Clemson, Purdue, (Maine thru Michigan and Nebraska streak) and now Maryland. All off piss-poor performances.
C'mon Rutgers.. get motivated each and every game to fight like hell. You don't have to win em all.. but you are expected to fight like hell every game.
Though I can’t comment on our play in two halves today it is the common thing of almost 99% of even the loyalist of fans . Bad mouthing the team is one thing but Paul has taken abuse now for several seasons some is warranted but much is not. He has been playing better and yes still has once in awhile an oops game . Paul has what we all wish other players had… some heart. Not the quickest. Not the most athletic guy but as another pointed out we need Paul Mulcahy to score 12-14 every game to have any chance to go dancing.

This game was unusual in that it was perhaps our worst half of basketball followed by perhaps our best.
Hell yeah! I totally agree with you and do the same myself. I just don’t bash kids individually and say how much they suck and don’t belong.
