The tortoise hasn't been seen for 12 hours. Start searching with a full 100 yard radius...

The thing wanted to make a left into Wendy’s but encountered a 17n median barrier. He’s somewhere out 12 east still trying to make that left.

Come to think about it. The sesame chicken at China Garden tasted a little different today. Not like the stray dog I'm used to.

Possibly related, my wife called me a few minutes ago and said there were two

turtles copulating in our back yard. I told her to take pics, she declined. True story.

I lived in Longmeadow in Starkville and my neighbors has 2 or 3 of these HUGE tortoises in their backyard.

Tortoise ownership is a problem. People get them as small pets and don't realize that owning one is a lifetime commitment. These damn things will outlive you. People don't think about that.

If he's in Longview he'd best git. I know some sho nuff half breeds around Houston-Thompson Road that'll have his *** in a stew by sundown.

My ex got a good deal on a parrot one time.

After about 2 days, I'm saying "this bird is supposed to out-live me and he's already annoying the hell out of me".

Of course m'fer decided he liked me more anyone else. Loved to sit on my shoulder **** down my back.

It wasn't too long before somebody else got a good deal on a parrot.

The truly astonishing thing to watch on FB has been the number of ill-educated mouth breathers that tag the owners of this missing turtle every time they pass a creature with a shell. Snapping turtles, red-eared sliders, box turtles, armadillos...an old bike helmet on the side of the road...

My mother used to breed parrots. For my 22nd birthday, she gave me one. He learned how to swear prolifically and sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame in Harry Carays voice. Today, wherever he is, I’m sure he is tormenting his owner with f bombs if he hasn’t been killed already....which I was tempted to do a few times.
