Looking Like Its Rhule

He’s 47-43 as a college head coach and failed in the NFL. Don’t tell me he’s a slam dunk hire. Be prepared for at least 2 not so good years. It took him 3 years at both Temple and Baylor
You really need to do some research before you post like this. Do some homework and write me a 300 word essay on your findings. I think you'll like what you find.

If you remove his first years at Baylor and Temple. His winning percentage is .75
You are cherry picking so I will do the same. Don't include Rhule's last two years at Temple and last year at Baylor and his winning percentage is 33%. Look at his record in Totality. It is 47-43

Unless they're all wrong, it looks like the drama is coming to an end with Rhule. As I said at the beginning of the search I'm not doing cartwheels over any new coach. I support him and will certainly give him a chance to prove his worth. But I've now become a "show me the wins on the field" fan before I go overboard. Been burned too many times before.

The next mystery will be whether he retains any of the existing staff like Mickey.
Pretty sure Mickey is a part of the “details” that Trev n Rhule camp are working out..hopefully discussing going fishing with Big NIL money too! 😁

I understand this, but I also think Riley would have created a successful program had not the Frost/Sipple/Davidson coup come to power.

Matt Rhule improved each college program he took over, substantially…some of the dorks on here wouldn’t be happy with anyone Trev hires

Rhule's record is what it is. I think it is pointless to compare him to another co
Who did you want that was so much better than Rhule?
That is the million-dollar question. I do not think hiring a coach is an easy task. Every situation is different. I am not sure who I would pick.

Reading he doest focuses on star power. Like to focuses on That a player PAI fits the type he wants and DEVELOPS them "who knew that it was ok to develop a player". My reasoning for being ok with this hire is he has 40 million reasons not to coach. Guy wants to prove him self. GO BIG RED!!!!@

Looking at his overall record without taking into consideration what he took over is naive. He had 45 scholarship players that first year so yeah his first season was bad.. 😒
The point is he turned both of those teams around quickly.

This guy sounds like just who we need. There's a lot of "1‰ betters" we need to get. I especially like reading this:

“I struggled with the mask on,” said Rhule, who likes to build deep relationships with players. “I struggled talking via Zoom. That maybe was good for some people, allowed them to be very Xs and Os, tactical, technical. For me, I had a hard time with it.

We need a head coach who is going to really care for his players. Been a while since we've had that.

What has Mike Riley ever done to lead you to believe he would be a winner at Nebraska. 112-99 in college which includes 19-19 at Nebraska. Just judge his record on its own merits. Do not compare him to another coach. He not the worst coach ever, but he is for sure very mediocre

I would welcome the Rhule hire as long as Joseph is part of the deal.

C’mon man. Who did you want? Rhule is the most logical choice out there. He turned around 2 F’d up programs

So was it worse than Nebraska? Baylor under Briles there were the scandals, BUT , they were still winning. Even under Grobe they were 7-6 and won the Cactus Bowl. Matt takes the team and wins one game.

Do you understand at all the situation he inherited? They had 45 scholarship players and one commit when he took over. And this was before the portal. Three years later, they were an OT FG from making the playoffs.

Mickey is the interesting part I am still waiting to see what happens. I was told by my insider that Mickey was not going to be retained in addition to any other current assistant. I was told by another guy that Mickey is good friends with Rhules old OC at Carolina ( I think that is what they said), as they were both assistants at LSU. I was told Rhule threw that guy under the bus when he got fired in the NFL and Mickey wasn't very happy about it. I may be misremembering a bunch of details. We will soon find out.

LOL, look at what happened. The Frost/Sipple/Davison trio presided over the worst coaching career in NU history. That's sort of inarguable. The Frost coup was an utter disaster for football and the university.
I won’t disagree but your saying Riley given the chance would have still been coaching

As painful as it seems to say it, IF he hadn’t been forced to fire Banker and replace him with Diaco it was possible. We’ll never know.

Joe Brady, I believe is the guy you're referring to.

We do NOT want Joe Brady as our OC. He was good as a passing game coordinator when he had Burrow at LSU. He’s not a play caller. He didn’t call plays at LSU

I’m pretty much been meh on Rhule since he hasn’t done much when you consider his record. Also he never stays at places very long.

I will however keep an open mind knowing that maybe he will turn out to be the guy that rights this ship. I was excited about Frost the hire since it totally made sense, defended him for too long, and am 100% behind him being fired. I hope Frost fails at everything he does going forward because he set Nebraska back to being one of the worst teams in all of FBS.

If it is Rhule (or whoever), the tell tale signs we be there definitely by year 2. If there is sloppy play and a comedy of errors in year 2, it was the wrong hire.

I’d like to see is the new coach hit the transfer portal hard and get rid of 90% of the cancer that is on the roster. There is too much of a losing mentality on the team. They tried to give away the game today and were saved only because Iowa does not have a quick scoring Offense. A good team would have never taken their foot off the gas and we do not have a good team. They cannot handle any success because it is so foreign to them. They need to move on!

I don’t see ANY “cancer” on this roster. I’ve been impressed with the way these guys competed and never quit on Mickey. We need some difference makers at a few spots but this nucleus can compete with most of the B1G. Gotta believe you can do it

Went bowling all but 2 seasons and 3 seasons of 10+ wins. Fans will take 1 bad year a year we go bowling and a 11 win season. That being said no coach is a guarantee

Not sure why people are worried Rhule might leave in 3-4 years. That would mean he turned the program around, if someone else wants to hire him away. And if that's the case, we'll be able to attract a good coach to replace him.
