Looking forward

Obviously, this year has been a massive letdown but going forward with Paul, Cliff, Caleb all returning with hopefully a more polished Mag, Miller, and Jaden, I'd have to think we have a solid base and an attractive destination for a desirable transfer to come in and take over the team. With Geo and Ron coming back this year, seems like no transfer wanted to come in and be third fiddle to two (as we see now) overrated players. If we can add a starting-caliber guard/wing and get a quality backup behind cliff, I personally dont think this team takes that large of a step back.

Losing Ron hurt but to be honest losing Geo doesnt do much damage with Paul and Caleb coming back as team leaders. I Trust Pike and still am holding onto the hope we can make a run this year but looking forward to next year I'm tentatively excited to see a new crop of talent come in ( transfers / jones / mag/ miller) and lead us.

Is it really a foregone conclusion that Ron won't be back? I'm sure he was saying last go around not expecting to miss the tournament his final year.

He's only 21, he could continue with conditioning and getting in great shape. Be the man next year and improve his stock. Get a 5th year of education and work on a Masters. If the G League or European league awaits, it is still nothing like playing for the school you love and playing in the RAC, as you can only do that once in your life.

But WILL HE get back into shape and be motivated to get to the tourney next year. I just don’t see him getting back in shape

Can’t count on either but leaving is the more likely scenario at this time.
It'll all depend on his handlers decisions. People saying he is leaving is totally based of his recruiting rankings. If his handler wants him at RU then he'll be here

Why. Has he not improved playing for Pike and staff? Is he not assured getting his minutes next season?
And has he not noticed how well the previous RU center is doing in a new system out west?

We need to find a big man coach or I do fear Cliff will transfer. What a kick in the groin if shu and Grant Billmeier came a calling.

Loving and leaving are different things. Pressure to leave heating u
The mods have said the exact opposite and that Cliff loves Rutgers
'But the mods said'....Cliff is going to have so many better options than Pikes depleted '23 Rutgers team. And for once in his college career he'll probably land with a team that has an excellent big man coach to develop his full potential, unlike being coached by our four guard coaching staff.

What was Pike thinking having a four guard coaching staff... another horrible decision. What legit big who has NBA aspirations would want to be coached by a guard!?

Jones will not be back. This is going to be Miller Paul Caleb Cliff and Hyatt/Mag starting.

Scangg...."but, but, but the mods say Cliff likes it here"...Clown these are business decisions as ultimately a prospect like Cliff wants to play in the league and it ain't going to happen playing for 4 guard coaching staff RU.

Nope. He's not ready yet offensively and nobody else has made this claim.
How can he be when he's being coached by ex guards.... Didn't all you Pike lovers figure that out before you started loving Pike. What legit big man is coming here to be coached by an ex guard.

1. He was offensively raw coming out of high school so it shouldn’t be such a surprise if you follow the program closely.
2. Given today’s NBA it’s probably a net positive that he’s being coached by guards who let him take some mid-range+ shots. A traditional big man who played close to the rim wouldn’t necessarily be that useful.

Look at all the top D1 big men, they all have solid shots away from the rim, being coached by big men. Seriously, if you had a stud son who was a big-time Center prospect, would you not consider who his college coach and mentor would be and would you recommend he gets coached by an ex guard??

Let’s look at some names then and see if they were as raw coming out of high school.

Knock yourself out...do the research
Lol, that’s what I thought. You’re just continuing to troll because you don’t even realize the 3 likely first round centers are a pair of top 2 recruits and an international player.

I'm talking B1G centers clown and I'm watching them light it up in the Illinois Wisconsin game...something that doesn't happen on Pike's team.

Of those with eligibility remaining:

-Cliff/Paul/Caleb/Mag return as starters

-Ron replaced by portal starting player, TBD

-Reiber/Hyatt/Miller/Simpson/Woolfolk next 5

-Palmquist/Jaden next 2 unless they step up

I’m guessing Pike will only get one guy from the portal unless someone else leaves besides Ron

His handler is the one who guides him. Not his parents
