Anybody on the board actually know football and can give a good breakdown of the game. Somehow despite our pathetic performance we had nearly 600 yards of offense...and our weakling freshman somehow had 300 yards total offense and 3 tds and 70% completion percentage. Anybody have any insight as to why yesterday was different or the same as the last 3-5 years? I expect this thread to be empty but hoping.

Very good Game#1 production from Martinez and the Husker offense. I'm no expert but I do believe that Colorado's defense will prove to be inferior to almost every Big Ten defense Nebraska will face this season, and substantially worse than Michigan, Ohio State, and Iowa.

Obviously you forgot what football looks like. Under smiling Mike it was not permissible to rush for more than a hundred yards a game, and you had to make sure the qb had no time to throw. The defense was not allowed to pursue any opposition on their side of the LOS, therefore allowing no sacks or tackles for loss. It was in the game plan to surrender at least 600 yrs per game and attempt to set a single season record for points allowed.

Both sides of the lineman were instructed and coached to play pattycake and confuse the opposing line by doing so. (The coaches thought that was how "pancake blocks" were recorded.)

What I saw yesterday was a team that began to resemble teams of old. There was fire in their eyes, a defensive line that played in CU's backfield. Some holes were created for the backs to run through and to the best of my knowledge, no look out blocks. The first three quarters was quality football. The first 5 mins was an offense trying too hard to make plays. It's going to take a while to learn how to win again. As long as there improvement, I will continue to watch. Last year was the first time in my life (I'm 55) I did not watch NU football; it did not resemble any team I ever saw play there in the past.

This year it will challenging to get the games. I have moved to Dominican Republic as a missionary, the streaming is not the best and it's hard to find live radio streaming as well.

The UCF trolls are just a bunch of butthurt crybabies. It’s really pretty funny watching their obsession with the Huskers. They will be gone as soon as their overrated team loses a game. Get into a real conference.
