Then don't look for Marshall to get much, if any better. Doc is not a good head coach....He is a good recruiter. There is a reason he has been in the game for over 30 years, without a head coaching gig. Rakeem Cato and weak schedules, has been Marshall's heart and soul under Doc. Cato is gone and the schedule is slightly more difficult. That's Marshall's problem, under Doc.

If it takes the president of the university to fire anyone on Doc's staff, then that's all you need to know about his coaching abilities. What happens then? The president hires Doc's new coaching staff? Ridiculous.

If a program must depend on the university's president to make head coaching decisions, then that program has a pretty bad head coach.

Just a god awful year for the Herd, but in the end, what impact does it really have on the game? As I've said multiple times, Marshall is G5, so their ceiling is win them all and have a chance at playing in a non championship big boy bowl, or simply go anywhere from 6-6 to 12-1 and play in front of 8,000 fans in a potato chip bowl.
