Long term health effects.

Just a question, if we are a decision point based on the possibility of long term effects on the heart and other organs how do they decide when a player is ok to play after testing positive? I understand an immediate elf to clear them but what if someone dies after being cleared. It’s ridiculous to look for a reason to end a season when they are are talking about long term effects for a novel virus.
Also these players are tested constantly where the regular person has to request a test when asymptotic. If they test positive they are quarantined immediately with medical care. I wish the country had these rules in place. But then again by the Big and PAC 12 a positive test will never have clearance

I've heard the term 'myocarditis' thrown around and that is what the fear of lawsuits is over. Didn't seem to bother anybody in or after 2009 when 60 million people in the U.S. contracted H1N1.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3533457/

My point. And when is a player who tests positive allowed to play again? Immediately,1 week , 2 weeks etc. Because we are now having people talking about long term effects. See the thing are we gonna have lawsuits for someone 5 years down the line? Anyone can reach back to something in there past. This is bull. Getting a virus and no issues shouldn’t keep someone legally obligated for any length of time. So what’s the length of time? There is no answer and the powers that be are making this into a joke by worrying about long term effects. They have another motive.
I may be crazy but this is all about something else and it ain’t about player well being. Maybe they are happy shutting this down

These players are tested and treated better than 99% of America so tell me what’s the concern while you send college students back to school for 1-2 regular classes , the rest online and then charge full tuition. This is a joke.

That's what I'm wondering too. Say you cancel this season but your stud player gets sick anyway. Do you yank his scholly next year because he may have a long term effect from it? Say a 5 star high school player gets it, do you risk giving him a scholly? The obvious answer is you test them for the myocarditis. Ok, then why not play now and test for it if they get sick?

Love the sarcasm but if you think the decisions made by a couple conferences today are worried about the students or the athletes you are mistaken and if the other 3 conferences hold strong I hope you don’t think they are worried about the students and athletes you are again mistaken. This is political or economically beneficial to each of these decision makers in each area of the country. It’s not about what’s best for the whole. It’s what’s best for them financially. A path to pad pockets whatever their political affiliation.

Also why is it not a concern for NHL, NBA, and MLB players that had positive tests and are now back playing. It’s just the latest scare tactic.

How are the Pac12 and Big10 receiving financial benefits by not playing? They are losing millions.
