See how many examples of hypocrisy you can find in the below remarks culled from the devil's den. I think #9 and #21 are my favorites...especially coming from Dook fans. I bolded them for emphasis.
So what's the deal they just don't call fouls on Kentucky?UGA guy gets hammered on a drive and no call, but refs blow the whistle every damn time Kentucky takes a shot.SEC refs keeping UK in this game until they can settle down and win it.It has started. He's all about self promotion.Even if these teams are giving UK their best shot, its not even close to what a on average ACC team's best shot would be. UK is making these games close, not the competition. Their outside shooting can be horrible at times and I don't think that will fly in the tourney. Kentucky may be able to sleep walk thru the SEC, but we shall see how they do when it really counts

On the other hand, it's appalling how impoverished the average fan is (ours and theirs) at taking a measure by direct observation and reporting anything objective at all from those findings

They will be lucky to win the ACC tourney. Sounds like they are hobbling into it. Okafor coming of his ankle sprain, and tonight apparently Jefferson and Winslow also rolled their ankles. Doesn't really matter though, as I don't think that tourney is going to affect their seeding.

Yeah, this comment actually pissed me off. Most of them I just laugh and smdh, but this is not cool. I can't think of anything our kids have said or done to qualify them being calle "d-bags", and even if they had, that sort of sort of stupid sh*t is over the top, even for message boards.

Me too. The rest I laughed at; this made me angry. This is an outstanding group of young men, as shown by their on-court demeanor, their post-game interviews, and the stories you hear from real life. I can handle them trash talking, but insulting our players, who are such good kids, really got me worked up.

Duke has a couple of low post players that really suck at the free throw line. REALLY suck. Likely that just one of them (OK4 - all rights reserved) has missed enough front ends during conf. play away games to acct. for why Duke has 17 fewer attempts on the season. Otherwise, these numbers are mostly even.

I was in a conversation with a duke fan yesterday that seriously asked me if uk has played a top 10 team all year. I said yep at the time we played them. Kansas texas, louisville, not to mention top 25 Arkansas and unc. And current top 25 providence to the mix. All double digit wins except texas iirc. His come back was yeah but you almost lost to uga. I said ok if you call an 8 point victoey almost losing. But duke lost to nc effing state, blown out by notre dame, and lost to Miami. .....crickets for 10 seconds them but cal cheats and k doesn't. I just walked away.

I had a similar convo with a Duke grad last week. Basically, they disregard all of their losses and compare their wins to UK's. I had to stop him mid-sentence and remind him that you can't just throw out two blowout losses. If I were an opposing fan, I'd prefer that UK went into the tourney untested. This team is resilient and knows how to dig themselves out of a hole. If/when we get punched in the mouth later this month, we will know how to respond. Duke, on the other hand, will collapse like a house of cards.

You must not have seen the games where Duke was "punched in the mouth" got down by double digits and still came back to win. There have been several. This isn't last years team by any stretch of the imagination.

BTW I think you can throw out two blowout losses. In College Basketball time, that was a lifetime ago. Duke has won 10 in a row and those two games were the beginning of January. They are not the same team. But really it doesn't matter, the tournament will tell it's own tale. I've seen some Duke teams enter the NCAA'S having lost 4 of 6 down the stretch or having been blown out in the league tournament only to end up in the Final Four and even win a National Title. I wouldn't hang my hat too hard on Miami and State just as I wouldn't read much into some close road wins in SEC play for Kentucky. That's what College Basketball is about, and when you go on the road these teams are going to give everything they have to beat you.

Neue Rebel, I like you as a poster but you most certainly can't just throw out those losses. In those games the Achilles heel of your team, defense ranked 66th on Ken pom, is the reason for those losses and will be the reason I highly doubt duke can win the title with. Your offense is great, and can carry you a long way, but history shows that if you don't have a top 40 defense you won't win the title.

Your team has certainly showed resiliency in tough games, like that epic Virginia win. There is still time for your defense to get better. You could get it to 40 by playing late into the tournament if it improves so who knows. I still think overall you guys are the 2nd best team in the country and have improved a lot. Would love to play you guys for the title.

Well, if there was ever a team that's an expert on getting upset early in the tournament lately...
