Texas is a joke just like the longhorn network. Espn got hosed on that one but no one should be surprised. Texas basketball hasn't made it past the 2nd round in a decade. I'm sure the Longhorn network isn't showing texas basketball getting served up as appetizers to legitmate competation.

The last 8 years Texas has sucked and WVU could only manage a .500 record
That is an indication that WVU needs to improve their football program more than anything.
Texas for the most part is not a 8-4 To 5-7 Team.
With how they recruited this year and how they will next year I thinking that WVU will be taking some 37-3 defeats against Texas.

Last year was the first time Maryland even scored a single point on Texas as they had been shutout the previous meetings.
With it being Herman’s first game, coming the week after Harvey and more importantly underestimating Maryland’s talent the loss was something that was handled and moved on from.
The issue for Maryland was the game caused injuries that derailed their season.
If you understand football than you know about forcing a team to play beyond their abilities the first game of the season.
That is how injuries happen.
Durkin might not treat that game as their Super Bowl in 2018.
It should be the Penn State game.
Maryland needs to beat Penn St to take the next jump up in the B1G and recruiting.

I will give WVU 1956.
It was before DKR though but that was when WVU had players like Sam Huff.

Still WVU played Texas in seven of their worst years in history and have only won 4 of these games.

That is neither here or there because WVU will need to take off their heels and drop their purses to win in Austin next year.
Stats do matter. When Texas can run the ball it keeps their defense off the field.
Texas’ defense is much better under Tom Herman than it was under Strong or Mack Brown.
It was a Top 10 Defense overall if you look at all categories.
Funny thing is that in 2018 it will be even better.
