Does iowa permit a "committed" player to visit another school?
The guy who recruited him announced his retirement and I can't fault him for listening to other programs.

For Frost it is a turf situation. Take this kid away and Iowa is looking over their shoulder until a player is signed.

If Ferentz bails on the kid why would another Iowa player ever commit so early to Iowa?

Like, how would a school even know if you took a visit?

"Hey, you know our rule you are committed to us and if you take a visit you lost your spot"

"Okay"

4 weeks later, takes a visit to another school.

Scenario 1: No one finds out

Scenario 2: People find out

"Hey, we said no visits and you took a visit"

"No I didn't"

Oh, okay...well we should probably trust you since you are coming to our school, sorry.

Probably doesn't help sites like this exist where there are literal pictures/post threads of recruits visiting.

But, I agree. If schools are trying to limit their prospects' ability to evaluate all of their options they must be afraid they can't stack up to the competition in some or several ways.

Yeah, but they only get those pictures if they know the kid is going to visit and if the kid lets the pictures get taken.

Even then the kid could be like "Coach, that **** is photoshopped, I was with my Mom all weekend...are you calling me mother a liar?"

Last night my six year old son was angry at me, and tried to think of the most hurtful thing he could say. He looked me in the eye and said: "I hate Nebraska, I love Iowa!" I screamed in horror. He seemed pretty satisfied with himself. He admitted later that it was just the anger talking.

Iowa really does suck, though.

He will stay with Iowa if he has any dreams of playing at the next level after college, lineman U, just saying.
Nebraska and Iowa currently have the same amount of active players on NFL rosters. I believe it is 27.Also Keep in mind Nebraska has been considered in a "down" period the last 15 years or so. So you may want to rethink that statement. It doesn't help try and prove your point.

Then he will have zero chance to win any kind of championship. Obviously getting a degree is most important. If kids are ok with playing mediocre football for 4 or 5 years while getting their degree, good for them.

And Nebraska gives him a for sure shot at championships? You haven’t won anything in 20 years. You went 4-8 last year and lost a few games close and saw improvement like every young team does throughout the year so now you think your going to win championships?? LOL You guys won’t do anything until you improve in the trenches. You have had better recruiting rankings than Iowa forever but haven’t won anything in this conference. So I’d hold off on the championship talk and hating on 8 win seasons and mediocre football until you get back to over halfway to that win total and reach mediocrity again cause that’s the best you been the last 20 years is bad and mediocre.

Not nearly as bad as iowa has been for the past 20 years total. Now you can STFU and stay on your iowa dolt board.

Yes in today’s social media world, how would anyone ever know if a prospect takes an official visit to a D1 school. Not to mention the NCAA tracks the visits.

And yes it was a Big deal 3 years ago when Iowa pulled several offers of commits when they decided to take an official visit without that being communicated to Ferentz. Unlike the row your boat couch that tries to bully the recruits into committing before leaving on a visit, Iowa makes it clear to only give an oral commitment if you are sure.

There was a case where the year where an Iowa commit did visit OSU or anther B1G school and he did keep his offer and did sign with Iowa in the end.

Is the Iowa board just such a boring and uninteresting place (which I can totally understand) that we have to have Iowa idiots on here ....to tell us how good they are and how we haven't won anything in a long time....blah blah blah Iowa this and Iowa that?

It all seems to boil down to this...IOWA SUCKS....and they have penis envy!

I can't imagine that it is okay for the NCAA to release the whereabouts of where and when a minor will be.

How it works is the kid sends in a request form to the school and the school sends it to the NCAA.

So if Ronnie Pudding (bonus points if you get that, but I don't think you will because it is clear you have never laughed before) goes to a visit to Iowa and gives his verbal and is told "NO MORE VISITS OR ELSE"...

Well...if he wants to take a visit he simply informs the coach of the team he wants to visit, say...ISU...ISU then fills out the paperwork and sends in the request to the NCAA, the NCAA makes sure it is all okay and says "Sure"

Kid then goes on visit and Iowa never knows. I know that Iowa is super important and stuff but they don't get a notification of every kids visit when it doesn't involve Iowa.

Go on an Iowa board and there is no where near the amount of thread titles with Nebraska crap in it vs how many you guys have of Iowa over here. I like to read and have meaningful conversations about football and try to do so but some of the absolute stupidity that comes out of Nebraska fans makes me enjoy throwing out facts.

And what has Iowa won in the conference? Since we’ve been here you have won what one division title? Your little brother syndrome is sad.

I visit the Iowa board on occasion to talk football, and to be fair, there are a few Husker fans over there who make the Iowa fans over here look like civil, rational human beings.

But I’m not claiming that a kid has no shot at championships at your school and does at mine. Which is what I was originally attacking.
