4th and 2 on the 42 in a game where the offenses are scoring at will he decides to punts

Next drive 4th and 9 at 41 he tries a 51 yd FGA and misses.

The FGA is defensible since it was the end of the half.

As for the punt, they did pin them inside the 10, which is usually a good outcome. With NU's defense, I would take that punt. But you are right, this isn't a game that will be won by playing for field position.

Maryland just got the commitment of 5* 2021 recruit Terrence Lewis.

At the surface level this would look like a game-changer for Locksley, but numerous P5 schools including his native Florida refused to take him because he allegedly hit one of his teachers. YIKES

Can the kid coach? Unless the answer is yes, no recruit is going to be a game changer for a Locksley coached team.

One of the most embarrassing recruitments in recent history. Originally committed to Tennessee. Supposedly told both Maryland and Miami staffs he was committing to them. Embarrassing.

He’s still got six weeks to change his mind, right?

Character matters, but Maryland had to know what they were getting when they hired Locksley. His New Mexico regime was a disaster for that very reason.

His time at Illinois as the OC was filled with recruiting shenanigans... except they didn't get caught!

I think Locksley is in a great spot at Maryland. His specialty is recruiting the DMV area.

This kid assaulted his teacher. He should be in a rehabilitation program, if not jail. Per reports, Maryland and Miami were this guys' only viable offers, as all other programs had backed off due to his multiple red flags. That shows me that Locksley is in the PERFECT spot. Can't wait to see this blow up in a year or two.

You also said that you think Lane Muffin is innovative and that he's in a great spot at Ole Miss. You went on to say that Ole Miss is a better team than Auburn despite losing to Auburn this year. I'm glad you're not in a position to make hiring decisions at NU.

I know nothing about this recruit. My broader point is Locklsey should be able to leverage his connections to keep some of the local talent in College Park. I think he’s the right fit for that program as he knows the DMV recruiting landscape better than almost anybody in the country.

As for Lane, he is a good coach/recruiter. He’s obviously made a ton of mistakes in his career, but has also been humbled. I think Oxford is a nice fit for him as he has all the resources he could ask for without the obscene expectations of a USC type job.

Maybe, at least until the NCAA sanctions the program and he's fired.
