Who was the source at OM that told you there were only 5 of the 32 violations are related to the current staff? And that they were secondary violations?

there were 8 level 1 infractions....
how do you like being lied to? Makes you look foolish as a journalist.

So Godfrey....

...considering your Ole Miss "source" provided abysmal information that you took public are now directly associated with outright lies, care to elaborate on that interaction? Who was the source? Blatant lies don't deserve anonymity.

Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.

I wrote this in January - http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo.../ole-miss-investigation-charges-ncaa-football

I think in hindsight the only thing I'd change is trying to quantify the total charges because it was a moving target at the time. However - and this will fall on deaf ears to an audience comprised solely of fans of the opposing team - we talked at the time about what the different sources were claiming, and we made the decision to put their "beliefs" on the actual record. That single word - believe, to qualify their claims as what they thought would happen - was important to me at the time.

The other part that stuck out when I re-read on Friday was that the sources believed the bulk was for Tunsil, prior staff (the ACT score) and the non-football sports. I'll stand by that now.

Again, I understand that fans at Mississippi State want to characterize this news cycle as some kind of Ole Miss led agenda, or some kind of effort by certain media to "protect" Ole Miss. I could debate you - and win - as to why that's not the case, but you're fans. On top of that I have a degree from Ole Miss. You are never going to believe me. I won't waste our time. I go get a genuine kick out of some of the theories I see online, though.

'I could debate you and win.'

All-in-Awesomeness.

Is this how you and your counterparts 'win'?

there is NO investigation
-there IS an investigation BUT it's not football
-there is NO NOA
-there are only 3 level II football violations
-there are only 8 level II football violations
-there is nothing on the current staff
-the only thing on current staff is Tunsil
-the investigation is over
-no coaches have hired outside counsel
-no boosters have been disassociated
-they are eager to release their side of the story
-Texas firing Chris Vaughn isn't related to Ole Miss
-Robertson has been calling Ole Miss recruits and claiming to be NCAA enforcement
-opportunity fund
-FBI investigating whoever hacked Tunsil's phone
-Ole Miss investigating Steve Robertson, gonna sue him
-Freeze said on Finebaum that he would fire any coach that he caught cheating
-9 scholarship losses over 3 years' probation

That's some serious 'winning' Charlie

Your sources are other OM fans. You are losing your own debate.

Try harder next time.

Usually they just sent me exactly what to write

So I don't know if the school makes up fake sources or not. I just wait for what Coach Freeze tells me to say to help my Ole Miss Rebels.

Fins up.

You tried to act like a genius on twitter saying you had the OM NOA realease pegged for memorial day weekend.

It doesn't take a very bright person to look on a calander 30 days after an extension to figure that out.

When did you write this one? (Not the tweets. The article) And what was your thoughts? A certain reporter say Freeze was never considered at UF.

We doubted this was true back then. And now we know better than to believe "sources" in Oxford.

Does it bother you that you were used by the coaching staff,

re-telling their lies as they tried to hold together a good recruiting class?

One Ole Miss source tells Steven Godfrey they believe only five of the 32 are alleged football violations, and that coaches are "confident" allegations related to the current staff are secondary violations.

"I talked to Coach Freeze about [potential violations]," [Deontay] Anderson said, adding that "he said it was about things that had happened in the past before he got to Ole Miss. I knew he would be honest with me."

Awwww. Why did you go? We wanted to hear why Florida couldn't match the Bears' contract offer. I guess we'll have to wait until Pat Forde writes it.

I read through this whole thread and all I got was "I don't have to explain myself to you because reasons. I am right, though."

I got a little chuckle thinking of when South Park poked fun at the Tom Brady fiasco. Deny and Subvert.

I could take a steaming dump and stand by it, but in the end, it's still just a pile of ****.

Help a non-Mississippian out here (or at least one who hasn't lived there in a looooong time). Who is Steven Godfrey? I gather from the thread that he's a reporter somewhere, and possibly has a radio program or podcast or something similar?

see... This is where I really begin to think you were just a mouthpiece for the lies. How often do you write stories using the "beliefs" of the people involved as the key pieces of journalism? The OM AThletic Department rolled you off the toilet paper roll, wiped a good two or three swipes, and flushed. And you're not mad at all about it. There are more level 1 violations under Freeze in the NOA than there were "beliefs" of total football violations that your "source" told you. I bet Yancy is your source.
