that our liberal athletic director made Mike Leach delete his tweet about Mitt Romney. So typical of the left. If they are in a position of power and you disagree with them, they make you take away your opinion.

I could really care less, but it's pretty obviously a stupid thing to do...

regardless of your views. Looks like a drunken rant. Hard to hold the high ground leading kids when you do the same stupid **** you're trying to keep them from doing.

Devil's advocate here, but maybe he was asked to take it down solely because they didn't want an MSU coach engaging in such a polarizing political debate and that it had nothing to do with actual political views.

Or maybe the AD, who I’ve never heard or read anything that indicated his political preference, just wanted to keep divisive political opinions out of MSU sports. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I would have never known he was "liberal" unless you said so. Sounds like he keeps his politics to himself. Considering how quickly a political opinion can tear a house to ribbons these days, I like a leader who holds his staff to a higher standard.

That’s the first thing I thought when he deleted the tweet. Leach is going to speak his mind on everything. Start trying to censor him and he’s gonna be gone. Terrible move by Cohen if true.

I think Leach can post whatever the hell he wants to. I'm sure there are professors at MSU that post very polarizing political opinions on Twitter and nothing is said to them.

I was told it is in his contract that he can't be publicly political as State's head football coach. When I saw the tweet, I thought either what I was told was wrong or that's coming down.

This is why the title of my earlier post was titled “Oh Crap.”

It had nothing to do with Coach’s specific political beliefs or opinions, or for that matter whether I agreed or disagreed or whatever.

My “oh crap” was in reference to our very promising head football coach, who at this point has huge popularity ratings amongst our fanbase, posting political tweets at 3AM.

When I made my post he was still tweeting and my concern was where and how far he would go.

Best to let it die

His rants and conspiracy theories were known long before we hired him. Hell, it's a major contributor to why he was available for hiring - otherwise he'd been snatched up by a traditional power long ago. Leach will be leach. Just something you have to live with now and best not to add any additional controversy to it. Don't poke a sleeping bear.

Just saying he has always been this way. Don’t hire him if this bothers you. Unless of course it is in his contract not to do that **** than Cohen is correct

Mitt Romney is twice the man that Donald Trump is and he displayed that he may actually have a least some bit of integrity which is incredibly rare for Republican politicians. And for the record if Trump had to run against Obama, he would have been back to selling steaks and fake degrees before you say "***** grabber". Lock this crap.

There were some posts on the WSU boards about his political opinions that were seen as controversial. It's a free country but probably be in everybody's best interest if he stood down from that **** for all concerned.

What’s the point of a post like this? You just want a thread locked? Why?

Nothing anyone posts here, on Facebook, on Twitter, on MySpace, is going to change anyone’s mind or their vote. You could hold the election today and get virtually the same results you’ll get in November.

What the hell is wrong with people? I’d rather the mods just delete these red boat posts than lock threads.
