Were there any interesting matchups/surprising results?

To me, Gibson has shown enough that he could be competitive at 133, not 141. Parkins not enough to show he can be answer at 141 unless makes a jump. Magro same at 149. Nini seems to have more upside. C Harer has not shown nearly enough for 157. Too many bad losses even in last year and in RS year. I think in good shape 165-197. 285 needs to be addressed. 125/133 in good shape depending on Knox. For team better for Knox at 133 but for March definitely 125. If B Harer shows out and can solidify 41 or 49 then we are overall in good shape in 8/10 weights. I am sure Goodale will work hard to find a 285 to replace Cstka.

I think you're being way too premature with C Harer

There was a lot of hype w C Harer.. better to be underestimated then overestimated..imo..he will be solid, like White.

Also, not sure if NJwrestle mentioned it yet, but Gibson is a freshman 125 pounder trying to wrestle at 141 ;).

Let's hope so, but he will be going into his 3rd year in the program, and that's when several top recruits have shown regression. I'd like to think he has improved over this redshirt year, I'd like to. Last year, his first, he was comfortably beating the guys in the room. Those matches that we learned of were:
Harer tech Condomitti 15-0 in 2 mins
Harer tech Weaver 20-4 second period
Harer 13-1 over Cetta
Harer 4-1 over Turley
Harer tech Weaver 22-4 2nd period

Last year Barbosa 9-3 over White, and Barbosa 12-2 over White
I'm curious how Barbosa and Ford do against each other. We've never heard.

His last match of his true freshman season he beat the guy who would go on to take 4th at ncaas a week later
Last year I felt C Harer was thrown to the wolves. Yes #25 on the Big Board but #4 at his weight. Very impressive rankings but doesn't scream slam dunk, high level success right out of high school, especially in the meat grinder middle weights of the B1G. I'm looking forward to his RS year paying dividends in experience, strength, maturation on the mat.

His Top game is awesome. I felt he could have won a few more matches if he just chose top. Hopefully he learned some techniques for getting oout of bottom.

Teams were choosing neutral against him before he even showed his top game in a college dual. That should tell you all you need to know about what NCAA coaches think of his ability.
