What a ***** idiot.

"Hopefully we won't have to make decisions like that in a couple of years," Long said, alluding to the 2020 presidential election. "The players didn't create this division."

"I have, like, three years of quotes about me and Donald Trump," defensive end Chris Long said. "I'm not going to keep going down that road, respectfully.

Long was asked about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell not commenting after the Eagles were disinvited by Trump.

"I don't speak for the commissioner," Long said. "If he doesn't want to stand up for his players, that's not my business."

I don't think it's accurate to say the players didn't create it but OTOH I wouldn't say that only the players created it since the owners created it too by having the NA in the first place.

And re. not doing it after 2020 if Trump loses, why would it stop? What happens if one or more players doesn't like the new POTUS?

The idiot says "I'm not going to keep going down that road," and does it again.

And.....Obama was President for 8 years and got nothing done about these player concerns. Where were Chris Long and Colon Kaeperdick during those years?

No.......just be honest about what this is about.
This is all about Trump mischaracterizing the protest by black athletes so that he can score points with people like you. It's pretty simple. I guess he doesn't like it when black athletes protest. He thinks they should stay in their place.

He isn’t mischaracterizing the protest. I understand exactly what they’re protesting. Their form of protest is insulting to me, the men I’ve laid in the ground, and the wives I’ve handed that flag to. Pick some other means to bring awareness if you want my support. It’s simple.

Again, they have the right to do what they’re doing and I have the right to be pissed about it. Your inability to grasp the offensive nature of their form of protest shows what a shallow, partisan, Little ***** you are.

Trump saw it as disrespecting the National Anthem......and that's what exactly what they did. Some players and coaches saw it as a way to pile on President Trump.....and that's exactly what they intended.
BTW....I'm the guy that said I saw no reason to play the NA at sporting events. But......when it is played.....I will respectfully stand.
I also never saw any statements where President Trump singled out any players based on their race......did you?

Of course you do but you're not a black professional athlete who is protesting poor treatment of black people by police and have chosen that particular time to express their 1stA rights. He doesn't need to. It's a protest by black people about black issues so to criticize the protest is to criticize black people and dismiss their concerns. I can't believe I have to explain this. Why doesn't the so called prez even acknowledge the reason that they take a knee? What just makes it worse is the NFL laying down for Trump, it's pathetic.

Have you done this.......fact is if he was a Trump supporter you would have posted this bragging on and on about him........now, STFU.......thanks.

A week prior to that game, a white nationalist rally in Long's hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, turned deadly when a Nazi sympathizer rammed his car into a crowd of counterprotesters, killing one and injuring several others. In response, Long announced he would donate his first six game checks of the season to fund scholarships in Charlottesville.

"In August, we watched people fill our hometown streets with hatred and bigotry," said Long in a press release. "[My wife] Megan and I decided to try to combat those actions with our own positive investment in our community."

In October, Long announced he would donate his remaining 10 game checks to help underserved youth in the three cities he played for: Philadelphia, Boston, and St. Louis. This move generated national attention, including praise from a former president.

I respect your opinion on the form of protest. I've long been of the opinion that choosing that form of protest was a bad idea. Too much attention goes to the form of protest, and too little attention goes to the reason for the protest.

Having said that, I read recently that one Eagle kneeled during the National Anthem. That was a player in the preseason who didn't make the final roster. This was about several players opting out of the trip to DC for the official visit.

Correct, not a single Eagle kneeled all season. It wasn’t about “several”, it was about all but a small handful going to DC. Very poor decision on the part of the Eagles players, in my opinion. They’re only further dividing people on the issue and it will impact their product.

It’s not disrespecting their free speech rights. It’s reacting to them and voicing our free speech rights. I don’t have to agree with their method of protest. Your position is utterly ridiculous. You’re essentially claiming we have to support their cause or we’re inhibiting their 1st amendment rights. Intellectually speaking, that’s absurd. You might as well just scream racist since you can’t articulate your position any better.

Are you missing this intentionally? I'm not talking this issue specifically with respect to Trump. We can take something from his first day in office when he claimed that he had the largest inaugural crowd in history. He was wrong, but stood behind it. We can go to any of a ton of issues where he emphatically stated one thing, then completely reversed course - relationship with Cohen and reimbursing him is another one.

My point is that you make fun of a guy who hits people for a living because he contradicted himself. Where's the complaints about the President contradicting himself or verifiable facts?

Edited to add:
Maybe the best example comes from the campaign trail. Trump disrespected McCain's service to our country on the campaign trail. Now he is upset because people who kneel during the anthem are disrespecting our veterans.
