The absence of Livers in our first matchup has been overstated being that Johns well outperformed his usual game and effectively replicated a typical Livers performance.
Bring them to the RAC at full strength.
Johns did perform well, but Michigan is a much different team with Livers. They have been a legit top 10 team when he is playing and more like a borderline 30-40 ranked team without him.
It's not just that he is their leading scorer, best shooter, and most versatile defender, it's more that the lineup is very thin. Howard basically rolls with an 8 man rotation right now (including Livers). When he is out and Johns starts, the only players off the bench are 6'10" center Austin Davis and 6'0" PG David DeJulius. Literally nobody else off of any quality that can play the 2/3/4 spots. That leads to them playing 3 guard lineups (all 6'1" or shorter) or weird 2 center lineups.
Livers is an elite shooter from everywhere on the floor, a great finisher in transition, and an elite defender capable of switching on to PGs and Cs and guarding them credibly for a possession. And Michigan's problem is they don't have the depth to make up for it other than in short spurts.
