[obrats_rivals]

Very important match here for Aguilar, dare I say a must win.

[Richie O]

[Lex Knapp]

Starting things off at 125-lbs as Nic Aguilar takes on the sophomore, Jack Medley

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar gets to a low single and comes out the back door, but Medley funk rolls to a 50/50 position. Medley manages to get a base underneath him in a double-leg position. Stalemate is finally called as Aguilar ties up Medley's legs.

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar with a knee-pull single, but Medley funk rolls once again. Aguilar is able to get to a front-head, and another stalemate is called.

[Lex Knapp]

Medley hit with a stall warning just before time expires. Fun period for no scoring being done.

Aguilar starts the second period on top.

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar lets Medley loose pretty quicly. 1-0 Medley with most of the second period to go

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar is really being the aggressor here, despite Medley getting to some decent positions in scrambles.

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar gets to a single, but again, Medley scrambles as time expires. 1-0 Medley heading into the third period.

Aguilar will start on bottom

[rugrapfan1]

Some good scrabbling at 125.

[Lex Knapp]

Medley is riding tough, and nearing riding time

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar gets out, but Medley is at 1:16 of RT. 31 seconds left in the bout.

[Lex Knapp]

Aguilar unable to get a takedown. Medley wins 2-1 on the RT point.

Michigan leads 2-1

[tfio]

Kid didn't take one shot the whole match

[MS-RU]

The fact that our guys can't get out from bottom is a huge issue and Aguilar hasnt been good recently...a very concerning trend.

[R U Crazy]

Second time Aguilar got beat by an opponent who didnt take shot the whole match

[Lex Knapp]

Sammy the Bull out at 133-lbs to take on Austin Assad. Rutgers could use bonus here.

[rugrapfan1]

Lesson for Agular can’t get rode like that.

[belushijo]

Tough loss to an unranked guy.

[Lex Knapp]

Assad on a quick shot off hte whistle, but Sammy defends well as they go out of bounds.

[SCNJ]

Not a single shot and only one stall warning. Either way Aguilar looked unimpressive and has really hit a wall since the Scuffle

[nikoru09]

kid better get stronger,,,,,he let the pushup king beat him.........head locked the who;e match

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez again giving up the legs, and this time Assad finishes for two points.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez gets to the feet, and is able to break free. 2-1, Assad still leads.

[Lex Knapp]

I know it's early, but having flash-backs to Cornell after 4 periods of wrestling.

[MS-RU]

RU doesn't look ready to wrestle once again. Not sure what's going on. Cornell redux.

[belushijo]

Sammy’s counter wrestling is superb, but I’d like to see him initiate more offense.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez narrowly avoids a takedown on the edge as the period ends. He is down 2-1 going into the second.

Alvarez starts on bottom

[Lex Knapp]

Assad now over a minute of RT. 1:05 remaining in the second, as Assad remains on top.

[belushijo]

How did the ref not even start counting for a stall there?

[Lex Knapp]

After 1:53, Alvarez finally gets an escape. That knots things at 2-2, but Assad has a potential RT point hanging out there.

Assad goes on bottom to start the third.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez quickly escapes, keeping his RT very much intact.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez counter-attacks to a takedown, taking a 4-3 lead. However, Assad has a potential RT point coming to him. 54 seconds left in the match.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez with a gritty ride to wipe out RT, and secure the 4-3 victory. That was a close one.

Team score is tied at 3.

[MS-RU]

What a tough, gritty finish for Alvarez!

[Clearscreen5]

Sammy!

[SCNJ]

I have no idea how Alvarez keeps pulling these wins out of his rear but it can’t possibly be flukey at this point
