Didn't Pike do the same thing last year before he shorten the rotation by the time Rutgers got into the heart of B1G play?

We had a lot of minutes from Thiam and Kiss in the pre-B1G schedule last year compared to conference play.

We have two wings coming in next year. Hopefully both can shoot. We need another big man who can score more than 5 points. We aren't there yet. Judging by our recruiting non victories we may not ever quite get beyond competitive . Sorry. I am calling it as I see it.

and we went on to finish below .500 again for the 13th straight season. So not really seeing your point.

The point is that last year we didn't look good at the beginning of the year. Going into Big Ten play many here thought we wouldn't win 3 games in league play because we struggled out of conference. But early season against the weaker teams is the time to try out different combos and play struggling guys longer than they probably would once the rotation is solidified. That's all.
