Its either Leland Conway or Terry Meiners and they are talking like Jurich and Pitino are untouchable in light of the UL housecleaning.
Jurich is definitely untouchable. Fans would burn the city if something happens to him. Pitino, not so much.
Ramsey would have been safe if he hadn't pulled the basketball team from the tourney. The dirty birds wanted to fight it like UNC.
Jurich is certainly difficult to FIRE. He however is very capable of leaving on his own to another job. He's had total free reign over his little fiefdom. The new guys in charge may be less likely to allow Jurich to do things like allow his hires to be a total embarrassment to the university. Hiring the neck-brace Bob and of course the keeping of a coach who had a brothel on campus. NO ONE in their right mind would allow their AD to continue to employ those people. The new President and Governor obviously are less willing to let the boys club continue. This was a BIG house cleaning and they will not stop at the board level. This is not over yet.
The sad fact is there are really very few "total package" coaches out there these days, and like him or not, Pitino is one of them. But you bring up a great point--as second-tier as his recruiting has always been at Little Brother, his recruiting really seems to have taken a nosedive since they got into the ACC.I can't believe UL fans are calling or Pitino's head. Surely they could get a pretty good coach. Pitino caught lightning in a bottle in 2013, and isn't going to sniff another banner with the way he recruits.
Facts are stubborn things. Even Pitino has now said it was the right call.
Its either Leland Conway or Terry Meiners and they are talking like Jurich and Pitino are untouchable in light of the UL housecleaning.
There have been a number of incidents in recent months and years related to the University of Louisville that have shed less than the best of light on the University and the Commonwealth as a whole.
The University’s Board of Trustees, as it exists right now, is operationally dysfunctional. Its dysfunction has precluded it from being fiduciarily effective.
Today we are going to start putting the University of Louisville house in order. A fresh start is the right thing to do and is in the best interest of the students, faculty and staff.
Jurich is definitely untouchable. Fans would burn the city if something happens to him. Pitino, not so much.
Nope. They would take a holier than thou position and pound their chests that their university cleaned house because it's not morally bankrupt like UK and it's cheater coach. If Pitino were to be fired, fans would burn the restaurants.
If that's the case they should take the lady at UNCheat. LOLTheir fans don't care that they have a school, they just want to win games. In other words Jurich will stay and they will hire a president who's better at hiding all his/her nonsense.
They should have already. I wouldn't want to eat at a place if it might be cross contaminated with Pitino's junk.If Pitino were to be fired, fans would burn the restaurants.
Their fans don't care that they have a school, they just want to win games. In other words Jurich will stay and they will hire a president who's better at hiding all his/her nonsense.
What did you expect them to say? These people are still living the grand delusion. They were in complete denial when the hooker scandal broke, and they will still be in denial when UL's house cleaning is finally over in another year or so.Its either Leland Conway or Terry Meiners and they are talking like Jurich and Pitino are untouchable in light of the UL housecleaning.
When the bad hooker news broke, President Ramsey awkwardly spoke out in public to defend Jurich before any facts had been investigated. That was a career ending mistake. From that moment on, Ramsey's resignation or firing was inevitable. Take a good look at Ramsey's letter of resignation. Board members are being dismissed, and UL's Board is being reorganized. As expected, Ramsey's letter suggests the reorganized Board will ultimately guide UL through this huge mess. NCAA penalties loom, but there is also a grand jury investigation. That means criminal charges. Business as usual is over in Louisville. It is too early to predict what the new Board will do about Jurich and Pitino, but a full housecleaning is the usual response when a school or a corporation gets into this much trouble. Any other response will increase their liability. UL can't control the investigation, so damage control is their only option now.1- Basketball is UL's national identity
2- Pitino is top 10 HOF coach
3- Jurich (by hook & crook) has built a sports super power
4- Goodbye Sacrificial RAM-sey
I know if I was even a decent recruit I wouldn't even pay UL a visit right now. Nobody knows what's going to happen to them in regards to sanctions. The sad fact is there are really very few "total package" coaches out there these days, and like him or not, Pitino is one of them. But you bring up a great point--as second-tier as his recruiting has always been at Little Brother, his recruiting really seems to have taken a nosedive since they got into the ACC.
What's up with that? Shouldn't that league have helped their recruiting? Is it just all about the scandals that they've had since they went ACC? I don't pay too much attention to them except when we're embarrassing them.
AFTER, they burned down somethingNope. They would take a holier than thou position and pound their chests that their university cleaned house because it's not morally bankrupt like UK and it's cheater coach.
It's totally true but I guess what I'm wondering about is what happened before the current situation.I know if I was even a decent recruit I wouldn't even pay UL a visit right now. Nobody knows what's going to happen to them in regards to sanctions.
Meiners has his head up SEXtino's ***..He is the lap dog..Jurich is the real control man..I think Pitino has something on Meiners' past to keep him in line..Meiners tried some threats with me 15 years ago when he started licking uavel boots..He said Pitino could have me taken care of..Looks like Pitino is the one in deep doo doo.:chairshot:Its either Leland Conway or Terry Meiners and they are talking like Jurich and Pitino are untouchable in light of the UL housecleaning.
Here is the statement from Governor Bevin's Facebook page. Read in to it what you will. It is clear to me that he is in fact worried about what is going on in UofL Athletics. In fact, it could be argued that the VAST MAJORITY of the bad light shed on the Commonwealth and UofL have come from athletics. That is the only driver of bad national attention...except of course the Sombrero photo that did make a splash on the internet. But the decisions of the Foundation hardly have made it out of Jefferson County.
