Besides Shooting, guarding, rebounding, passing, aggressiveness, basketball IQ and fundamentals; yeah they’re basically the same player.
Over your head but let’s look at this. Jelavic is playing his first year of college ball. Padgett was at his best as a senior. I’d say he’s ahead of Scott at the same time. First year at UK. Like the topic stated hoping he develops into a similar steady forward.

The thing is though that his shot looks good. Just hardly any of them go in.
He's hitting 67% of his 2 point shots & like 29% of his 3's. I really think Pope should use him on the inside more, he'll give some ground in there on defense of course but his offense inside the arc is a plus. If we had the 3 point shooting from last year, he'd be amazing cutting to the basket imo. He scored 11 against USCjr & half of those were inside the paint so let's see how Pope uses him moving forward.

His freshman season he got suspended for skipping class or something like that right? Violation of something so Pitino suspended him.

Always appreciated Scott Padgett’s play. Underrated UK player.
Been waiting for another 4 similar to him. AJ is more developed at the same time (soph) but still too inconsistent. Plus that spin move in the lane has to go.
I know overseas guys take time but do think he’s a keeper. Hoping that light goes off soon.
He is nowhere near the same player as Padgett in any sense of the matter. He doesn’t like contact and he can’t shoot even though he continues to shoot 3’s over and over

In Padgett's first year at UK - when he was 18 - he played 14 games and scored 2.3 pts per game. All the while backing up bums such as Antoine Walker, Walter McCarty, Jared Pricket and Mark Pope. So basically the same as Jelavic.

This is the dumbest take ever. May God have mercy on your soul.

Wish you knew more about basketball. AJ 6pts 4 RBs is over twice what Scott averaged in his first year.

I loved Padgett. One of my favorites. Know him personally. He really improved and as I stated hoping AJ continues to as well. We’ve missed a tall stretch 4 lately.
Regardless of your opinion I think he has potential to help UK. Hope he sticks and works hard.

Not even close. Padgett was a first round draft pick started on a title team, was all SEC and played 8 years in the NBA. I will give you 10 to 1 odds that Jelavic doesn’t do any of those things. Interested?

I’m glad we have him and hope he sticks it out. Player with a ways to go but he has upside. Multiple skills. Like to see him continue to improve and become a steady 4. Players improve with time and experience. A fact that goes over the head of some of our fans. They label a player after a few games. I see potential.
His stats in his first year are better than Scott’s but Scott really developed. Many labeled Padgett as a non factor in his first year and thought he wasn’t UK material as an instate guy. Proved them wrong.
