Got an email on my way out of town to Starkville last Friday, and purchased the tickets in the boy's school parking lot. Good thing I decided to order them then and there. There were only 10 available seats and only one group of four that I needed together. I saw it last night, the only night it is to show in the US.
Despite being on the very front row, & while it wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, I enjoyed it. I haven't seen the play it's based upon, but it's mostly Lewis himself (Max McLean) narrating his story of conversion to Christianity from Atheism, from child to adulthood, through intellectual reason.
The film is pithy with a Capital P. If you've ever read any Lewis, just imagine that spoken to you. For, the majority of the dialogue is his own words. As one person in my group put it, "it's like drinking from a fire hose." If I were ever to attend one of his lectures I'd need a transcript to be able to truly absorb the material.
All in all, a very interesting and good film.
