I know I'm asking for the impossible from Rupp Rafters, but in victory or defeat I hope we can be civil and respectful tonight. There is a lot on the line, but I have great respect for ND's players, coach, and even their fans. This is a game I'm really looking forward to, and obviously hoping UK runs away with it resulting in a stress free win. However, it's naive to think this ND team isn't capable off pulling off the upset. They are a very good team that plays a style I believe can be effective against the Cats. I just don't know if they have the size to get it done. If I am wrong and they manage to do what no other team has been able to do this season, I hope you will join me in tipping my cap to them and wishing them the best. On the other hand, if we win I hope we will be gracious in victory because from the games I've seen, their players appear to be good kids.

The nation is begging for someone to beat us so that they can watch our fan base melt down. If the situation ever arises, I hope they will be disappointed to see us handle it in a respectful and classy manner, especially if a defeat comes at the hands of a program that I respect as much as Notre Dame... With that said, Cats by 14. Let's get it done boys!

Not gonna happen, if UK loses tonight trolls are gonna come out of the woodwork and it'll be a war zone on this message board. I will come just to watch the madness, that is after I've cooled off from being so pissed off UK let an inferior team beat them.

Look! The majority of big blue nation will be gracious and civil. However, ND's coach and some of those players seem to be

smart asses. I just hope the cats win and let the Irish shrink back into the also ran's for the next decade. This team brings no

pressure. The control police on this board stirs the pot sometimes it seems. I just pray our guys do their best and no injuries.

No pressure.

Plus I'm not "tipping my cap" and "wishing good luck" to anybody who beat me. I'd say "let's run it back". This is sickening really.

Brey said, we can beat anyone.... Of course he just won a game and was pretty high.... Any coach will think they have a chance to win... He said they played through the best conference in America, so they won't be intimidated by the crowd....

You guys are right, the better method is to be as vile and obnoxious as possible, making sure we embarrass ourselves in the process because we all know it would change the outcome. Listen, I'll be surprised if we lose, and I'll be as upset as anyone, but I'm also an adult and I act accordingly. If we win, you won't see me rubbing it in. If we lose, you won't see me bitching and moaning or digging for any excuse I can find. I've won and lost in many facets of my life, and done so many times. I know how to handle both scenarios like an adult. Just hoping some others here do as well.

Screw that. Notre Dame fans don't respect us, they think they are better than us and have been bashing our players and coach the last 2 days.

Well I don't respect Notre Dame , their players, or their coaches any more than most teams . I probably will not post anything at all . But it has nothing to do with your feelings . And I can't stand nor do I respect their overrated football team .

Today I walked out of a store and to my car where I saw a car window flag that of UL. I politely handed it over to its owner and said that I'm truly sorry.

I just don't say anything win or lose, before or after. Outside of "good game" there's no reason to say anything to the opposing team or fans. Especially when you have your own teammates and fans to celebrate with.

Some of our fans has been making us look like idiots for years, and you think your advice will change the world? ND can't beat this team unless they hit 15 threes, and thats not happening, so move along, just another waste of internet space

How many times do people like you have to be told that the VAST MAJORITY of people on this board that start crap after a loss, are posers and fans of other schools trying to make UK fans look bad? How do you think we can stop that?

Cal?

Look, I understand it's not going to happen. Fortunately I think we win so the situation never arises. It's just that the very same passion that makes me so proud to be part of the BBN also embarrasses me from time to time. When we lose, this board reminds me of the little kid that throws a tantrum in the floor of the grocery store when he doesn't get his way. You know he's probably a good kid, but you can't help but be embarrassed by his behavior.

You guys are right though, nothing I say changes anything so I'm sure it's a waste of breath.

Shall we all turn Hymn number 112 in our song book:

UK rolling thunder pouring rain
Their coming on like a hurricane
Their lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young but you're gonna die
We won't take no prisoners won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight......

I don't think this thread had the effect Longshanks was planning.

Today, UK and BBN fought like warrior's poets. We fought like Wildcats and we won our freedom.

Same class as I'm reading over on the Notre Dame boards where our coach is a cheating hack and our students never attend class and they're intellectually superior to ignorant Kentucky fans?

That kind of class?

I say crush the chaun's and steal their lunch money.

Ukcatsfan10.
I understand your sentiments.
I don't know how old you are, but if you haven't been on sports boards much, and I don't know if you have, but I learnedfrom folks that you don't assume that they represent the entire fan base.
There will probably be as many fans at the game as there will be on here following the game, and only about 10 to 15 % of those on here post. So it is a very small sample of the real fan base anyway.

As I said, I respect your sentiments, but just as in my family, my church, my community, my nation, there are differences among people and how they communicate and how they project themselves, etc.

Peace.

Go cats.

I agree and I appreciate your logical response. Unfortunately that 10% somehow manages to drown out the other 90%, as you can see evidenced in this very thread. A thread about being respectful, which is something I think we all strive to be, still manages to bring out the nastiness in those 10%'ers. For some reason being respectful gets associated with showing weakness or fear of losing, and some people's bravado will not allow them to even entertain that idea, so instead we thump our chests, rave about being king, and speak to others as if they are below us because we are behind a computer screen and can't be associated with our own comments. It's unfortunate, but it's the world of sports forums.

If you walked up to me and tried to educate me on what was or is respectful and how I should behave, that my preaching friend, is DISRESPECTFUL. For you to get on this board, and speak as an authority on proper mannerism, is DISRESPECTFUL.

A. Agree

B. Yes sir

C. I'll stay

In an attempt to redeem myself, I'd just like to say... Louisville sucks, Pitino lies, WVU is a bunch of inbred idiots, there's no chance in hell Notre Dame stays within 75 points of us, Kentucky is unbeatable, greatest team to ever pick up a basketball, 40-0 is a certainty, UNC cheats and is a disgrace to colleges across the country, and many other things that I don't feel like typing. Anyone that has a opinion that isn't mine is either 1) an idiot, 2) a troll, or 3) both.

Do I blend in with the rest of you guys yet? Would hate to deviate from the Rupp Rafters mold, as it would most certainly result in me being chastised and I'm not sure I can handle it. .
