Bud had to have special cans that said "Mississippi" stamped on top. We couldn't get **** back then. I remember coming from NC where Bud was 5%, and then drinking it at 3.2%. I thought my tolerance had doubled there for a while.

The specialty beers are on the same level as wines. They have recommended food pairings, sometimes come no smaller than 750mL, and have similar ABV %s.

Most have a bitterness unit somewhere above 20. For comparison, Bud Heavy is somewhere around 5. It takes a lot more hops to get that IBU up, so that's why it's more expensive.

But, for the most part, I don't really like "beer", I just like to pee a lot. So, Anheuser-Busch has never done me wrong. Occasionally I'll get into trying specialties and gourmets, but it has to be the right crowd, and outside Alabama.

Sorry, but you're falling behind the times, gramps. The original facebook crowd from its early years are all over 21 (I'm 22 and pretty sure facebook was around 3 or 4 years before me). Plus, people much older are joining up rapidly. I got a request from a sixty year old a few days ago. Weird.

And, you can walk into any liquor store and buy 100% pure alcohol.

You just can't buy beer, whose highest ABV is 25%, that is over 6% ABV. Makes no damn sense.

Mississippi, Alabama and West Virginia are the three remaining states in the U.S. that have laws on the books restricting alcohol content in beer.

The only one missing is Arkansas. Why can't we be lumped together on a list with other, more tooth-friendly states just once? Have you ever seen: "Mississippi, New York, and Arizona are the only three states remaining that..."

Come on, Mississippi. We can do better. Aim high, starting with allowing some delicious and dizzying beer into the state.
