Duke goes through these January slumps at the beginning of conference play every year. Those first few true road games we struggle to win unless the team we are playing is just terrible. Every since we started recruiting the one and dones they struggle early in conference play. In 2015 we got handled as soon as we went on the road against a pretty good team. We will be just fine. It’s harder to win on the road in college basketball especially if you’re a bluebood. You’re going into a packed arena against guys who are trying to prove a point. Upperclassmen at that. The goals for this team are still reachable.
Now we need to figure out a good defensive system for this team. We are going to struggle with communication for now because most of these kids come after having piss poor coaching in AAU and high school. It’s going to take time for them to learn the game and how to talk.
What was up with Grayson last night? He looked like he wasn’t ready at all. Then he started taking dumb shots. He wasn’t assertive at all. He has to get it together
