When we've attempted 20 or fewer from range, we're 14-1 (7-1 vs. major conference opponents). When we've attempted 21-26 from range, we're 2-6 (1-5 vs. major conference opponents).

If you want a really crazy stat, and an example of correlation not being causation....

We're 8-1 when committing at least 13 turnovers, and 8-5 when committing 12 or fewer turnovers. So, naturally, we should try to commit more turnovers, lol

I would probably simplify this and guess that Myles Johnson and the amount of points and touches he gets, limits how many 3s we take. The more successful Myles is, the more likely we win.

The problem is MSU, Michigan, Illinois specifically did a better job moving him away from the low block.

Yup this and when you are losing you are more likely to take more 3's to chase your way back into the game. Think about all the attempts we had in the last 2 mins against Michigan.

Success of this team usually boils down to "did Myles pick up 2 first half fouls in first 5 mins?" What he allows us to do defensively with his length can not be duplicated on the roster.
