Pike is doing an excellent job going after guys with length. On that last possession alone, Shaq blocked a shot, we blocked an inbound pass, and Geo blocked a three. I saw a lot of hands in the passing lane and passes deflected. You can say Miami had an off shooting night, but it was clearly off because of the D. Add a guy like Mulcahy into the mix next year and that will only improve things

Thiam, Mathis, Harpee and Doorson are all plus size where arm length matters...just playing smart positional defense with Mulcahy next year and Young has quickness.
Good thread. Did you see about 4 of us posting in the game thread about how our length was giving Miami trouble all within about 2 minutes of each other? Was kind of funny, but it's absolutely true. It's not just about steals and blocks, although those are nice - altering/preventing easy passes is probably even more important.

Announcers said in the beginning of the game were a top 10 team in terms of length. Had no idea we had that considering we don’t have a huge inside game but we also have Thiam playing shooting guard at almost 7’0.
