Lemonis Influence

Does this team still have too much Lemonis influence that is holding them back? Lemonis teams were not good under pressure, couldn’t get up for the moment, and were checked out at times. A lot of the core offensive pieces are “Lemonis guys” and seem to have reverted at times throughout the season back to his offensive philosophy. Not to mention the one time Oak chewed their butt, it was evident they couldn’t handle it.

Continually over rated too. I cackle that we are in the top 15. Pitching is as weak as ever. One solid starter. No bullpen. Bad recipe there. The lack Of hitting has been there alllll year

We hit .298 in conference last year. We are hitting .273 this year. We averaged 7.3 RPG in conf last year. 6 this year. Lemonis was terrible but this has nothing to do with that
Talking more about mindset than BA. Crack under pressure, anti-clutch, don’t seem to care about W/L, etc. Don’t think it’s a stretch to say coaches recruit players of a certain mindset/mentality.

Nothing to do with it. Especially since the worst have been the position guys from Virginia

I think history will be kinder to Lemonis a decade from now than it is now still pretty close to when he was fired.

I would argue we’d kinda be in a bind without Lemonis players this year. Many of the transfers have been somewhat underwhelming.

I say all that still as a big believer in Oak. We’ve just had some new players not work out so far. I think about on opening day we had Nunnalee hitting lead off and Teel batting third. Fast forward three months and Nunnalee hit so poorly that he’s basically just a defensive sub, and Teel is pretty much a platoon outfielder that isn’t as good as he was at Virginia.

Don’t have near the attempts so don’t think you can draw that conclusion. Only way to improve is to see pitches. I’d say the best guys on the team are Tomas and Bauer. Meanwhile, Ace Reese straight up quit on a rundown and Noah Sullivan can’t hit a center cut fastball.

Teel had 101 PAs in conference. Hit .244 with a 25% K rate. All you had to do was watch Nunalee to see he wasn’t helping us this year. Both were in the opening day starting lineup

Don’t seem to care about W/L? That may be the dumbest take this month. And there have been a lot of them. What is wrong with you people?

Leadership Leadership Leadership!

we don’t have that take charge couple of players that will get in players asses about their effort or their approach at the plate when the opportunities to produce are there. Way too many Solo home runs. And they love to celebrate them.

Passive Back to back head coaches who refuse to stick their foot up in players asses makes players soft!

our new head coach loves to give the opponents raving reviews after they kick our tails rather than point out the obvious flaws.

message board fans who recognized that Ben Davis is only good for 2 innings before something blows up, yet he keeps entering the game with 2 outs in the 6th or starts the 7th instead of us having someone who can be that set up middle of game fireman to settle things down and get it to the 8th for Davis.

Freshmen and Sophomore Starters and closers all over this league who don’t have 1 good outing and the next game can’t find the plate.

What did you see on Saturday to make you think half the players cared if they won or lost? They’re getting paid regardless

Did you think the same thing about Auburn players on Thursday night? They are getting paid regardless too. What I saw Saturday was a game that got away from MSU early. What I saw Thursday was a game that got away from Auburn early. Nobody stopped competing, each team was on the wrong side of a one-sided loss.

You don’t seem to understand competing, but you have a strange obsession with mailing it in.

One might say SEC pitching is a bit better than ACC pitching?
Maybe on the whole but I doubt it’s a .317 to .244 drop difference. Carson Tinney and Tristen Bessetta are doing just fine. Bessetta is actually far far better to put it mildly. Chris Hacopian has taken a slight drop. But another Virginia hitter has struggled - Henry Ford.

But the portal has certainly proved that lesser conference doesn’t mean being overwhelmed by the sec. I’m sure Noah Sullivan faced far worse pitching before he got to state. Same with Ace Reese (in comparison to his 2025 year)

Personally, I think the SEC will be a log jam except for Georgia. LSU will make the playoffs. The SEC will maximize hosting teams. Hosting is all that matters. The season is great preparation for the playoffs. Exit the SEC tournament early to go further in the real playoffs.

The pitching in the league this year is far better than last year. Offense is down almost across the board FWIW

Hell, we've still got 50 year old future heart patients lusting over a 6'2" ginger girl who hasn't played ball here in 6 years.

This place is weird..

Pitching is our problem. That's how I see it. Too many runs early in SEC games our way too many in the middle of the game.
