Seems like he’s still behind Corbin (understandable), Johnson, Schlossnagle, and Vitello. So, behind 3 coaches who don’t have a natty. I would have expected it to be a little bit more, but he’s at least in the ballpark of all the Top 5 sans Corbin.

He absolutely deserves it. However, this is where the NCAA just doesn't look fair. A coach and staff can get paid this type of money in this sport where there are only 11.7 scholarships that must be spread amongst 27 players and up to 35. So fair to say none (or very few) of these players are getting that full cost of attending school.

so they, or their parents, get to spend 10-30 thousand dollars a year so the school can earn that type of money.

Great points Bruce. I'd only add this is the same organization that won't allow

a third assistant. Which I've always thought was ridiculous in itself. While football players are getting paid to put their pic on a bottle of sweet tea, on top of getting a full ride, baseball players and their families are getting screwed. There's no fairness and there never has been.

I think I read where he gets a bump every year. Not sure if the other coaches have that in their contracts.

Also, I agree they need to fix the scholarship issue in college baseball. I thought Coach Polk was gonna fix this a long time ago. It is ridiculous and unfair.

Can someone explain the lack of a third paid assistant? So how are teams able to have a third assistant? Are they grad students with paid assistantships? Do they have other jobs? Are they early bitcoin investors?

They are paid through the camps the school puts on. I dont understand why we wouldnt just have a third party sponsor tons of camp spots to increase the pay and offer camps to local kids for low cost or no cost. Maybe its against the rules
