no, I don't think he was afraid of the competition. I think maybe he burned some bridges -
going to miss him
This is probably the best decision for him. Gets an extra year to just work on his body and game unless he's graduating this summer

Seems odd because he is a semester away from graduating so he will have to sit out next year if he transfers to a Div. 1 school out West.

Good luck to Lee. I can understand his stance on transferring. He tasted major minutes now realize he will get less minutes so he wants to go somewhere where he will get a lot of minutes which gives him a better chance to thrive just like Wiltijer did. Hopefully he finds that and has a amazing season

I just saw this article. I can't believe it, to be honest. Article says it's about being closer to family, but that sounds odd to me. He's not 18 anymore and I would think homesickness would be out of his system, unless there is some health issue or something similar with his family. Oh well. I wish him the best.

I hate to see Marcus go. He will always be BBN. That said...I think I prefer to see SKJ get those minutes over a returning Marcus Lee. Sacha has a much higher upside as far as what he could be come March with meaningful minutes played during the season.

What in the world? He must have said something regrettable about someone's mother? What kind of bridges did he burn? I wonder if Cal's looking to bring anyone else in?

Matt Jones did mention it was a possibility during his show earlier today, though still a bit surprising/disappointing after us getting all excited that they would both be back.

I feel like if we could only have one of the two back though, I personally would have preferred Briscoe.

Best of luck to Lee if he wants to go back out West for his Senior Year, though.

being closer to family is one of those standard "reasons." Sometimes it's true, sometimes not - but not something anyone can really argue or fault. As I said in a previous post, I think he burned some bridges and Cal is not going to put out anything negative about Marcus.

I think it was more along the line of him talking to Goodman? And the other comments he made regarding his goals. We also don't know for sure what went on behind closed doors. Just an impression I had - no sources or anything , only opinion

Think there's any chance we might look for a 5th year transfer big for backup purposes? I'm imagine it's not too likely, as it doesn't really seem to be Cal's thing.

Good lord, why criticizing the kid. And I'm sure there are going to be more people and some with the "Oh well" attitude. Such miserable people on this board sometimes. How about let's support him and thank him for his time here. Even if it didn't live up to whatever expectation some "fan" had for him.

I think the results of the combine was a huge reality check for him. Obviously, coming back to college was the right decision. And for Marcus, transferring closer to home to get 2 more years of work and development is the avenue he chose. I wish him all the best and hope we as fans root for him as we did with Wiltjer.
