How does that improve perimeter shooting? You're takingnout Briscoe, who isn't great but has certainly been hitting the 15-18ft jumper lately, and you're putting in Lee who isn't even a threat from 8ft.
Moreover, you're taking our best on-ball defender out to start the game. Why? Particularly when Lee has been prone to fouling early and often the past several games.
Furthermore, our defense and offense is better served with Willis at the 4 rather than the 3. The whole benefit of having Derek at the 4 is that he can guard better from that position because players aren't as quick off the dribble from the 4. Move him to the 3 on defense and he's more apt to be scored on. On offense, when he is at the 4 he stretches the floor and gives space for Tyler to work.
I'm all for people speculating and discussing how to play and who to play. But there seem to be a few posters on here who just want Briscoe out of the starting lineup. It's totally irrational! He's a very good defender and just seems to be getting his jump shot and FT shooting going....and now you want to bench him for Lee?? On the premise that it improves our outside shooting? And frankly, Brisoce is rebounding better than Lee right now anyway, because Lee can't stay on the floor.

False, OP. Briscoe brings intangibles to our lineup. Plays lockdown defense and starting to get more confident with his stroke from the field and free throw line.
I don't know why so many Kentucky fans have so much confidence in Lee. I know the kid has improved over the years a lil bit, but even now he's not starter material and even as bad of a shooter as Briscoe is, he still brings high energy d and the potential to hit that midrange j. This potential lineup doesn't do it for me. I know it sounds like i'm a hater of Lee, but i promise you i'm not. I like Lee just fine. He's the type of big any team would love to see COMING OFF THE BENCH. It's just when you get to the point of having to start a player like that it starts to become a problem and noticable. Briscoe is a young player and we all know his shot is never going to be at Steph Curry level anytime in his career, but throughout this college basketball season, he has a shot at improving his shot with more practice and look at the bright side, it can't get any worse.
I'm not sure how much Lee's advantages as a starter would significantly outperform those of Briscoe's, especially when one considers Lee's one real strength (rebounding) is also a particular strength of Isaiah's. Briscoe is averaging greater than 5 rebounds/game, and he's a decent creator on offense, something Lee is exponentially worse at. Factor in Briscoe's defense, and it's clear we're seeing the best five start the game.
Briscoe needs to be in there for defense and his mid-range jumper is really coming along, which stretches the defense. Hard to pull him out of there. Do a cost-benefit analysis. His benefits (defense, mid-range jumper, ballhandling, scoring) outweigh his costs (3 point shooting, free throw shooting), IMHO.
Now that might be a good lineup against some teams. That team should rebound rather well.

the reason why poythress is effective is because of the mismatch at the five. the reason why willis is effective is because of the mismatch at the 4.
Why would you change the line up that we've been start the last couple of games? We are winning and the rotations seems to be falling into place.
Wrong. Isaiah Briscoe is a better player than Lee, and gives us more defense and transition skills. Lee has regressed this year, while Briscoe gets better every week.
