I think the whole media has been really cutting back. ESPN, Fox Sports website both cut back. Seattle's King 5, the NBC affiliate, offered buyouts for all their top news people. King 5 anchor Jean Enerson was an anchor for 42 years. I bet you won't see anchors in the future last that long. I've know Lee since he was in junior high school. He has never been afraid to express his opinion. He has enough self-confidence that I don't think he cares what others think about his writings.
Social media and smartphones killed off traditional media. We don't need ESPN or the sports page to check scores and get news. It's all there right away for free on Twitter or other apps. Same goes for local news, weather, etc.
Everyone is a journalist or opinion writer on Twitter. If you want to read opinions from a guy who hates on the football program or defends Tim Miles, you don't need to pay to read Barfkneckt. There are plenty of other people with the same opinions on Twitter.
Because social media is so much more accurate???Everyone is different.
Yep, and a lot of the information you can get from social media is better, and I don't need to factor in a slant from a guy like LB. Things change and papers and local news will soon be as relevant as the typewriter or fax machine.
