I have a new house...I am 100% LED. I have replaced over 12 LEDS in the first year...they were supposed to be 10 year bulbs. After I built I realized my recessed lights (Puck LEDs) are now discontinued and if I lose one in a room, I have to replace all of them as they won't match...the packaging says that that I can take them back to the store and get a refund, but I don't have receipts as the builder bought them...what a scam

Probably cheap bulbs. Some of the Chinese imports are ****.

They are hands down more reliable than incandescents, however they don't dim as well incandescents.

Sylvania Brand. I have dimmed my puck lights and other than very low light, they work fine. The Pucks are still working and our kitchen lights, which we purchased afterwards are great.

The one thing I did do that was a little out there was to use uplighting above my kitchen cabinets...We have 9" ceilings and extra long cabinets. I used LED pucks that is remote controlled so that I can change color based on the mood that we are in...also did it behind our flat screen and it really makes a difference when watching. It's an open floor plan and the uplighting when we dim the lights for dinners or listening to music gives it a pretty cool vibe.

LED's were forced on us by Congress before the technology was ready. Another example of government sticking its nose in the private sector when it should have let the market transition. Fortunately, the newer LEDs are very good and we have been installing them in every residential and commercial property.

Could have been a bad batch. I've seen it before. I had a pack go bad after about a year. Better than what I was getting before, but not nearly what they should have been.
