This gets annoying. I don’t have an nba team and watch the playoffs more than the regular season, so I’m not saying this as some Lebron super fan, but why is it that most of the time people give him credit they have to make sure to degrade him somehow. People have to say something negative before going “but yeah, he’s good”. He shot 11 free throws so 8 of his 35 points came at the line. So saying they wouldn’t allow him to be guarded is silly. Boston got called for 20 fouls to Cleveland’s 21 so how is that an excuse?

Give the man his credit. He’s great, he’s the best NBA player in the league and is one of the best ever and has shown that throughout the playoffs time and time again. Boston couldn’t stop him and they lost. They tried doubling him as I thought they should and he had 9 of the trams 15 assists. He also had 15 rebounds. So you can’t blame the refs on those stats
If his teammates had made shots early, he would have had 20 assists too. He set people up the entire first half and everyone just missed wide open shots. The guy can play. Too many people on this board just hate for the sake of hating. If you are not UK, there is a reason to hate you. I don't get it.

I’m arguing that the east is crap.

You’re the guy touting the west as perhaps the best conference ever. That’s fine. But that argument doesn’t somehow mix into the eastern conference merely by association.

The.

East.

Is.

Crap.

Jordan never had it so easy, especially in the 80s when teams like Boston/Detroit were waiting. That kind of makes it difficult to know what he might have done to a team as lacking in talent as the Celtics team.

LBJ is still great, but the jury is still out on where he stands. Taking a crap team through a crap conference tournament doesn't solidify the #1 spot.

The east was ****, but the Cavs had arguably the shittiest roster outside of LeBron even in that weak eastern conference. NEVER did Jordan play on a roster that bad. Never did he play on a roster half as bad. That's the truth, we both know that.

LBJ and MJ are the best ever.

That said, Jordan never was given the gift of walking through such a pathetic eastern conference like the one this year. Even the Celtics, minus Irving/Hayward, would have been blitzkrieged by MJ’s Bulls. Pick any MJ year in the 90s, including the 1990 team that didn’t win it.

But keep plugging what ESPN wants you to plug.
I still think Jordan is the best I've seen, but they are different players. Jordan had better players around him. Who on this year's Cav's team is Pippen, Kerr, BJ, Paxson, or Kukoc? LeBron is doing this with role players, especially since Love was out.

I was always neutral on LeBron but when I saw all the ridiculous hate for him he quickly became my favorite player. I just don't understand how you can hate a dude that is all about basketball, NEVER out late getting caught up in ****, and is a family fan. Not to mention the millions upon millions he uses for his numerous charities.

Some people say he whines to much, as if Jordan wasn't even worse. People say he gets all the calls. No he doesn't. He gets fouled on every drive but it's not called much. You breathed on Jordan it was a foul.

He carried the absolutely terrible 2007 team to the finals and has done it again. He singlehandedly pushed the warriors to 6 games without Love or Kyrie. Then he put on the greatest finals performance ever in 2016, while being the the first team to come back from a 3-1 hole against a 73 win team. Again I don't get the hate.

I think people have realized for a while now that LeBron doesn't have any actual shot of winning a title so they go completely over the top when he has early round success against mediocre teams in the East. It's like a preemptive defense of his inevitable Finals defeat.

He's a narcissist. Just because someone hasn't committed a crime doesn't make them a good person. He's gotten several coaches fired, always makes it about himself, throws teammates under the bus to the media (often subliminally, but it's clear as day). Not to mention the fiasco with The Decision, his constant whining after every single call (no matter how obviously correct it was)... there's plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike LeBron.

Every star athlete, successful movie stars, and pretty much anyone that's really successful could be considered a narcissist to some degree. Also I never said just because he hasn't committed a crime that that makes him a good person. I said you never hear ANYTHING about him off the court. He's a great role model IMO.

I don't see him making things about himself, the media does it. He seems to be one of the most humble sports stars.

The decision was def in poor taste but it did make a **** load money for charities. He's apologized for it numerous times and he did go back to Cleveland and won them a title. But to each his own.

And after those two teams fell off the map what great teams in the East did Jordan have to deal with? The Knicks with Ewing?

And Lebron had to deal with some pretty good teams at the beginning of his career too, a Miami Heat team with a Wade In his prime and a Shaq still playing at a high level, a Detroit Pistons squad that had made the ECF 7 straight years, and then later a Boston Celtics team that pretty much started the Big 3 teams you see today.

Personally, I think it's idiotic to compare players, especially when the rules of the game, the style of play, and the landscape is completely different. Lebron is definitely one of the greatest. He is definitely the most gifted player ever to play. This has always been a star-driven league; the East has no true superstars outside of Lebron. Put Jarrod Polson on any church league, and his team would dominate the league, regardless of who else is playing (assuming no other D-1 players). I think Jordan would go to eight straight finals too, but we would never know. If the East got to pick an MVP (the most outstanding player over the course of the season, not actual MVP) it would probably go to Kyle Lowry (Lebron half-assed 80% of the regular season).[roll]

How do you half-*** your way to 27.5 ppg on 54.2% shooting, with 8.6 rpg and 9.1 apg, while playing 36.9 mpg without missing a single game?

God, what a stupid thing to say.

How many times did Jordan take the Wizards to the playoffs?

James got these goobers on the finals.

To be fair Jordan sat around for a few years and after killing those guys one on one at 40 decided he could score enough to get those bums into the playoffs and he did.

Lebron doesn't get the protection Jordan did IMO.

He gets beat on pretty good every game because his game is more going to the rim. He actually takes a lot of punishment. I think players get away with a lot against him at times too because he's such a physical freak guys hit him and just bounce off of him.

Go watch some old tape and watch MJ get clotheslined in the lane. Protection lol.

He never won anything in the 80's either but did lose in the 1st round 3 years in a row and got swept a couple of times. He didnt start winning until the Lakers, Celtics, and Pistons got old.

Jordan never had to face a championship team in the Finals. He played the washed up Lakers after Kareem retired, Blazers who never won anything, Sonics who never won anything, Suns who never won anything, and the Jazz who never won anything. He never had to go thru a team the caliber as the Spurs and Warriors who won multiple titles.

Yup narcissist, he throws his teammates under the bus by giving them credit oh and the decision. He had it televised and raised millions for the Boys and Gils club. How dare he not take your fragile feelings into consideration when deciding how to announce where he was going. I'm sure you're equally outraged by Kentucky practices and combined being nationally televised.

Judging by how lowly people talk of Lebrons teammates in this thread, and how highly they rate Jordan’s - it sounds like you have it the wrong way around.

Tears nothing. I don’t overly watch pro ball. Mainly the finals and that’s it. LBJ is allowed to shove off at will. Granted he gets fouled a lot too. But it’s the conference finals. Let them play. Saw some ticky tack fouls called in there.

Watch Harden play... they all shove off.

Lebron's resume for GOAT includes his total game and impact on teammates.
...MJ was on loaded college teams (Worthy, Perkins, Smith, Daugherty)
...MJ won one title in three seasons

...MJ was on loaded NBA teams (Rodman, Pippen)
...MJ won 6 titles

...Give Lebron the same opportunities and he wins more than one and six
...Why? Because Lebron is great + makes EVERYONE ELSE better

Put Jordan on Lebrons teams and he’d win 50 championships. My argument, same as yours: nonsense speculation.

Name one person Lebron has legitimately made look like a great player where they weren’t before? The only guy I can say might have gotten a bump is Mo Williams, and people still denigrate him like he was a total scrub. Lebron has mostly taken already great players and made them look the same or worse playing with him.

Just to be clear, I think Lebron is a goat player, but people try to let him have his cake and eat it too. Somehow all his teams have sucked, but at the same time he elevates his teammates more than Jordan did? The two contradict each other outright.

Incredible???

Pacers
Raptors
Celtics. (No Kyrie Irving)

Good grief. Not a chance in hell he goes to all these finals playing in the West.

Lebron is one of the top two players of all time no doubt. But let’s pump the brakes on the incredible talk for this particular run.

There is something to be said for that last part.

It's been surprisingly hard (given how willing a passer LeBron is) for teams to surround LeBron with teammates that seem like a natural fit around him. And there hasn't been a LeBron bump for the teammates he's had with All-Star credentials. Kevin Love and Chris Bosh got worse, Wade just seemed to get the ball less, and though Kyrie did get more efficient (no small thing for him), he disliked it enough to force a trade.

I think part of the problem is that LeBron is sort of hogging 2 positions at once on offense. He's the best PG on every team he plays on, but he's also the best 3 or 4. And he sort of does a combination of all those things. It doesn't leave a ton of space for his teammates.

I also don't think LeBron has done himself any favors when acting as a de-facto GM. He's seemed to push behind the scenes for veterans (often washed-up or near it) over youth, for name recognition over potential. He should look at the Celtics to see what can happen with young, athletic, energetic players.

Bosh I’m now way got worse. His numbers went down because he was now sharing the court with two other all stars. But Bosh expanded his game so much when he was on the Heat. It’s not even close really.

I dont think, I know "The Decision" raised $2.5 million for the Boys and Girls club. I also know that it was totally innocuous and a bunch of butt hurt clowns got their feelings hurt over something that had nothing to do with them. You got mad because a guy announced a decision on TV and I'm the halfwit... LOL.

I like how anyone whoever plays with LeBron automatically turns into a scrub when he takes them to the finals. D-Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Kyrie Irving, Kyle Korver, Tristan Thompson, Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood (averaged 16ppg in Utah) ect. Are all scrubs cause they play with LeBron. LeBron is top 3 all time undoubtedly but let's not act like he never has help.
