Laya Hays year 2

From what I can tell from press conferences and interviews, Heiden's sweet spot is 27 mins a game. With that said, expecting Hays to pick up 10-13 mins/gm. Also for small ball lineups McW can pick up mins where Hays is too slow to keep up with a faster center.

I would consider this Towson team to be a small ball lineup and Hays did just fine for what we need her to do at least for a minimum expectation of growth over last year. At least from what I can eyeball and stats wise, Hays is showing that min growth if not better. Of course this is a very low ranked team we played, but Hays can not be beat up by them also. I would say we're in trouble if she had very little progress in a game like this. So far, I haven't seen that. Have to monitor it against stronger ranked teams to see where she falls.

Last year, Hays consistently brought down every lineup +/- combo JJ put out on the floor. This game was not one of them. The point being, there's hope yet she can just keep us from going backwards when she is in.

Really. Splitting hairs are we? So go back through your posts (like #17) on this thread and convince us that your glad she's on the team, because it sure as H E double toothpicks doesn't come across like that in anyway.
Tonite's the nite...10 pts/6 rebounds/1 foul/2 TOs in 18 minutes.

What does our Center recruiting look like so for for next season? Be nice to grab an "Ava" type recruit and develop her in year one while Ava is still there. Layla will give us some quality minutes this year I am sure. She is working hard at it and it is early in season 2. Ava still has to play smart relative to her fouls though.

They already have Hartwell the 6'4" -6'5" center out of S Carolina. I believe she's a top 50 recruit. Along with Suebert the combo guard out of Wisconsin. Another high school players probably a long shot at this point, certainly not another center, considering Ava could play two more seasons. With the new 5 for 5 rule everyone could come back another season at this point.

Hartwell is 95th in the class (not top 50) and Seubert 73rd.

Yeah, Hartwell's stock has fallen quite a bit, but hopefully what she showed early can be tapped into and developed to the point that we can one day say she was ranked way too low when compared to the career she ends up having.

So did her stock drop after she didn't get a S Carolina offer, and went outside the SEC? Why does rivals have her top 40?
