So what excuses will there been for the Army result now. Clearly not that good as they got worked by Marist. No matter how good Marist is they still scored 17 goals against Army where we could only muster 4. We gave up 15 goals while Marist gave up
Only 9. How do we spin this result

The way they played I could have sworn Army was a solid top 10 team. After this result, Rutgers reaching .500 might take a miracle

I thought we had new assistant coaches who were supposed to really help us take the next step. This is a monumental disappointment- men’s lacrosse seems to parallel women’s basketball. High expectations every year with disappointing results - at least women’s basketball makes the NCAA tournament more often than not

I'm not saying it doesn't matter or shouldn't matter,. I'm saying someone's job should not be on the line over such an arbitrary standard. If a hoops team was ranked between #25 & 30 for 3 out a 4 year stretch and didn't get a single invite to March Madness would you say it's all the coaches fault or that they got screwed?

Sorry I disagree. The GOAL is to win titles. Conference and national ones. Period. That doesn’t mean a coach shouldn’t be given a chance to build a program - to a point - BUT sooner or later if you’re never reaching those goals you’ve gotta cut the chord.

Can’t wait to hear why Marist - MARIST - is suddenly able to destroy a team that just destroyed us. This should be good lol!

So if Schiano doesn't win B1G and National Titles in the next 6 or 7 years he should be shown the door? Consistent Top 15 isn't good enough?

Did I say 6 or 7 years? No. Nice try. Com’on Man you can’t seriously tell me you’ll be happy if we go three or four more years without making the postseason. I’d say you or anyone else is full of **** if so. Listen I like the guy, thought it was a great hire and he has moved the program forward, but the bottom line should be more than just this. We should expect more. We should want more. I sure hope he does and his boss does.

No one wants it more than he does. But he's a victim of his own success. The things he's accomplished with one hand behind his back is astounding.

No. I won't be happy. And neither would he. I just recognize the obstacles to be overcome.

Thought I would bump this up from last year when all you know-it- alls were calling for his head. And please don't say you weren't. He ihas been one of our better coaches given the Rutgers landscape and it doesn't help that we have been shafted numerous times by the ACC mafia. Big Ten coach of year first NCAA appearance in nearly 20 years.

Guys, it’s a message board, people can say whatever they want as often as they’d like. That’s what it’s for: to discuss opinions AS WELL AS facts. Open discussions as such are great for all involved because they tend to give others a little more inside knowledge WHICH is a good thing! I love when my old classmate and friend (in this discussion) comes back at me!

(And just because you do or don’t donate to a program doesn’t mean you can’t discuss your thoughts and opinions. That’s absurd. There are people here who donate to multiple programs, as well as the athletic department
and the University overall, it doesn’t mean they can’t express their opinions nor are they right or wrong about them.)

That being said I will never understand why posters feel the need to reach back over a year and bring back threads as such. Weird to me. Last season ended abruptly, this season ended on a happy note, so why rehash old arguments? Silly in my humble opinion.

I think the thought is those who are crying about something, if they aren't doing their part to make it better, than their opinions don't matter. In fact, and even worse, they are a part of any perceived problem they might think there is.

As Ghandi said, be the change you want see. Couldn't apply more to college sports.
