Consider the primary purpose of a university. Shouldn't you be trying to get back into the AAU? Isn't the education of UN students more important than football or girls volleyball?
Probably. But college football hasn't been about academics for a very, very long time. So idk man. Alls I did was point out how absurd the claim is Nebraska plays in front of 20k fans. A simple "it was hyperbole bro" would have made me say fair enough and move on. Instead everyone is ranting out the sell out streak.

But come on guys. 20k is ABSURDLY low. 😅

I cant tell if you're trolling or a geriatric. But your reply quite literally has no contextual relevance to my post.

For the 4th time I am not referring to the "sell out" streak. These are through the gate numbers.

Dear lowered I sincerely hope I am just the subject of trolling here otherwise I weep for our future. This is 2nd grade level reading comprehension here guys
Hmm, you think maybe everybody here and everywhere else is just tired of hearing about the streak, (scam) that's been going on for many years, so any comment starts this discussion? Was the poster adding hyperbole when he said 20K at a game. Sure he was. You think we don't get tired of how much Nebraska hates, (and looks down on Iowa)? Is there an added joy in beating braska EVERY year, (especially when it's on the last play of the game)? Oh yes there is. From your smug fans, coaches and players, (like your HC saying he didn't know who #34 our AA middle linebacker was, or your captains not shaking hands at midfield during the coin toss), your fans and teams "you guys are beneath us", attitude. Frankly I don't care what you post. You can take it back to Lincoln, and don't let the door hit you in the backside....

Well we know college football at braska isn't about academics, don't we. Funny thing is most of our athletes graduate with degrees.

Most of them mid twenties now, and getting paid, some of them as multimillionaires. What that has to do with Nebraska's open disdain for anything Iowa, I have no idea. Under NO metric for the entirety of the huskers presence in the B1G has Iowa been beneath you, yet the delusion lives on. Time for the Huskers to take stock of where they really are.

I haven't mentioned anything about disdain for Iowa. I made a quip about how silly of a low estimate 20k was. Thats all. Period. Pretty innocent really.

I would strongly suggest not taking this game so seriously.

What are you, a fan of the worst (by far) academic school in the Big Ten? Any plans to get back into the AAU after your arses were kicked out? Nowledge U indeed.

You don't need no fancy book learnin' on that side of the Missouri, as long as you have football and girls volleyball.

Fortunately, I am not referring to the streak.

Maybe if I say it enough times the collective brain power ITT will have a eureka moment

You do know that Iowa is a low population state too and also has another power 5 school in the state drawing 60,000 fans for home games. UNI also draws about 15,000 per home game. Nebraska is the lone wolf in their state for football.

Last time I went to a game in Lincoln I became a fan of the Nebraska fan base…… we tailgated in a parking lot with all Nebraska fans and it was a blast….. all the fans were friendly and you could tell they just love football

We stayed in Omaha and I was stopped gassing up at a gas station and I had a black truck with a 20” tigerhawk in the back window…… Some guy comes up and says you must be going to the game…… he said welcome to Nebraska and he hoped for a good game without injuries

Went to the game and it was a great atmosphere….. we kicked their *** and the only a$$holes I encountered were two drunken idiot Hawk fans that were taunting their fans

We went out in Omaha that night and several Nebraska fans bought us drinks and congratulated us on the win

So I’ll never get the disdain for their actual fans…… EVERY fan base has embarrassing idiots online so unless you never leave a chat room and experience their game day you’re missing out

ISU and Minnesota fans are far worse in person…… Minnesota is the worst……. they really do hate Iowa

I am indeed aware of that. Im not sure its relevance, still, to my initial jest. But yes. I am aware of that.

The part I find most humorous of the fued is that the people of Iowa and Nebraska are literally the same people. Many of us have family in the opposing state. Ive lived in Iowa for 20 years.

When the Hawkeyes arent playing Nebraska, Im rooting for them - because many of my friends and family members are Hawkeyes. We're two deeply connected states, at least here on the border end of the states.

I will second that Natchrlman. I've only been to two games in Lincoln but the Nebraska fans were friendly and welcoming. Iowa lost both games, but fans on the internet are not the same people as fans in the stands.

I will say, I was shocked when I went to a game in Lincoln (probably 12 years ago or so) as to how nice and polite the fans were. I was a bit hesitant to wear my gold Hawkeye sweatshirt after seeing how opposing were treated in Wisconsin, but my Nebby friend said no one would say a thing, and he was right.

I'd readily admit that most of my interaction with Nebraska fans is online. Until a few weeks ago when I retired I worked Saturdays so going to games from KC was out of the question. Much of my post was about the players, coaches and admin and their presumption that Iowa was beneath them. Do you not consider Rhule saying he had no idea who #34 was (so Jay, an AA and the conferences top LB, went up after the game and introduced himself) or their captains not shaking hands pre game, (a move that had to be approved ahead of time by Rhule) to not be a clear sign of disrespect toward our team, coaches and University? That's not even getting into the crap their old AD started after the only time they;ve beaten Iowa, and since they only won by 2 points he had to "evaluate where Iowa was as a program", and he fired the coach. Would you call those actions respectful? Could that lead to the other fan base being resentful?

He was confused. 20k was the weekly bail budget for Nebby football during the Devaney and Osborne years.
