There was zero excuse for not playing TJ on that last drive with no chance to win. And we gave up yet another sack. At what point can we just accept that DR might have been overrated? I get that the OL is hot garbage again, but he offers no threat running the ball and is just to easy for defenses to sack on blitzes.fat boy with legs of lead cannot avoid a sac---send in Lateef. DR does not have "elite" arm talent and is unable or unwilling to prepare himself to make up for not being elite arm talent
They must be trying to redshirt him. There was zero excuse for not playing TJ on that last drive with no chance to win. And we gave up yet another sack. Can that be a bad thing after what we just watched? It’s definitely time. It will change the offense
Only a f@cking idiot would worry about trying to redshirt anyone let alone a QB in this day and age. They must be trying to redshirt him.
Or they are stupidly stuck on Raiola no matter whatThey must be trying to redshirt him.
100% agree. Play him.Only a f@cking idiot would worry about trying to redshirt anyone let alone a QB in this day and age.
DR is better than any QB here in 8-10 years (though Casey Thompson might have been as good ) but time to get Lateef going see what he can do. It’s not like it’s only guys like Haarberg or Sims or Purdue as backups anymore.DR ain't it. I wouldn't blink an eye if all the Raiolas left town
One deep pass on target tonight and it was dropped.DR is a unique case. He has obvious positive and negative traits. If his class was reranked as of today, he would be downgraded and not a 5 star. His lack of athleticism and inability to consistently connect on a 20+ yard completion doesn’t support a 5 star grade. Maybe that fact would be masked if he was at OSU or Georgia or an NFL team. Maybe not. Because he is not athletic and doesn’t connect on long balls. But he is a master at check downs and completion percentage. He is like Shedeur Sanders without the game changing upside.
But it might’ve hurt his feelingsThere was zero excuse for not playing TJ on that last drive with no chance to win. And we gave up yet another sack. But Lateef is mobile and can take off. With DR, Minny didn't have to worry about the QB running. Is DR afraid of contact or what?I know this sounds encouraging, but he is coached by the same coaches, would have to operate behind the same offensive line, and run the same plays being sent in.
I guarantee Cignetti wouldn't wait. He has balls... Rhule sucks. We would have been better off after half time
Therein lies the problem. Life is hard sometimes. But it might’ve hurt his feelings
Cignetti learned from Saban. Saban didn’t hesitate to pull his starting QB if he wasn’t playing great (see Hurts replaced by Tua T). I seem to remember TO switching between Tommie F and Brook B, depending on how the other was playing.I guarantee Cignetti wouldn't wait. He has balls... Rhule sucks.

Yes the OL was poor today, but Raiola was also a liability. The game has changed with faster DL and lead foot QBs are too easy to beat with a strong pass rush. Mahomes, Burrow, Josh Allen, etc all can run for a first down when the pocket collapses. Raiola is just dead to rightsCignetti learned from Saban. But these are elite coaches and Rhule isn’t.
Rhule will be getting paid moreI guarantee Cignetti wouldn't wait. He has balls... Rhule sucks.
A healthy Lateef might have been a better option than a one legged pocket passer with a banged up right hand.Nope. But DR should have a short leash next week.
My beef is that Raiola is clearly not healthy. He hasn’t been throwing good balls consistently since the throwing hand or arm injury at the start of the season. I had heard hand. Then you add in the leg injury from last week. How bad could Lateef be?fat boy with legs of lead cannot avoid a sac---send in Lateef. Big 10 football is not the same as mop up time against Houston Christian. I'm glad Lateef has looked impressive when he's been out there but having all day to throw and hitting wide open receivers isn't something Dylan has struggled with either.
This is one thing that Lateef can offer that Dylan cannot. He would be behind in other areas, but doing some zone read with a QB keep would be a nice change of pace. Rhule and Dana H. seem very reluctant to take Dylan off the field even for a few plays here and there. But Lateef is mobile and can take off. With DR, Minny didn't have to worry about the QB running. His mobility slows down the pass rush. A rush end isn’t as liable to pin his ears back if he’s worried about somebody as quick as Lateef breaking out of the pocket. The point is that Dylan is clearly not healthy. He’s not Pat Mahommes. He’s a liability IF he has a throwing arm injury even not considering the obvious leg injury.Big 10 football is not the same as mop up time against Houston Christian. Tua was 10 years old when Cignetti coached on Saban's staff. I don't know what coaches influenced Cignetti the most but my guess is the biggest one was his Dad who won a **** ton of games at the same Division II school in Pennsylvania.Cignetti learned from Saban.
