I know some teams have started district tournaments and there's one big tiebreaker game on Saturday night that could change this poll slightly but here it goes anyways. As always this is just for fun and my opinion only, based on what I've seen thus far.

1. Surry- Still the team to beat in my opinion .

2. Grundy- Wave have most wins in school history. Looney and Campbell are a great combo, but they aren't the only two.

3. JI Burton- Raiders had one slip up since my last poll, but also beat Eastside by 17 since then as well.

4. Colonial Beach- Had a hiccup against W&L, but won arguably the toughest district in 1A. Could possibly be on the same side of the bracket as Surry in regionals.

5. George Wythe- Maroons have won 13 of 14. Two of their three losses have been to Bland. The favorite in Region C in my opinion still.

6. Eastside- Play Burton tonight for the regular season district championship. Will be a tough out in Region D, especially if Ethan Powers is on.

7. Rappahannock (Warsaw)- Will be the #2 seed in Region A based on points. Have had a lot of close games go their way. Should help them in the playoffs.

8. Lancaster- Defending state champions finished 3rd in the NND this year but were in many close games. Coach Rice will have his team ready come postseason.

9. Chilhowie- Warriors have quietly won 7 in a row. In Cale, they have a true leader and Catron can get it done down low. Peaking at the right time.

10. Bland- Bears have given GW two losses on the season. Also own 2 victories over Chilhowie. Could be a state qualifier in a tough Region C.

Honorable Mention (No particular order)

Riverheads
Auburn
Northwood
Carver Academy
Parry McCluer
Cumberland
Holston
Franklin
Northampton

Riverheads will be a tough out this year. I haven't seen enough of the other teams to speak intelligently on their chances but this is truly the fun part of the season for any basketball fan. Good luck and safe travels for all teams and fans.

Playing in a tough district will have Riverheads ready for Regionals. I haven't done my regional predictions yet, but I think Riverheads has a good chance to go to state and also win Region B.

I said it was my opinion. They are a good team, no doubt, but in my opinion, they arent even the best of the honorable mentions, and yes I've seen every team on this list at least once. PM is definitely capable of winning Region C and advancing to states. Also if you haven't noticed, I've done multiple polls this season and have included them in previous top 10s. In between this poll and the last poll I did, they lost twice.

They lost to the 3a champs and lost to the team that will play them in the 3a final Can’t wait til all the doubters eat crow. 3peat

This is a boys poll. Which if you took the time to actually read, you would have figured out. But yes, if I was doing a girls poll, PM would be my number one
