Good heavens I'm glad to see someone else on this board say that. I've been saying it for years. He is a great coach, great father, and knows Mississippi football as well as anybody.
Yeah, he appears to be a massive loser. Extreme primmaDonna and appears to not be a great decision maker. Auburn has dumpster fire written all over it.
He certainly makes sure that everyone knows he went to Florida State for 2 years. Like that entitles him.
I'm two episodes in as well. I imagine I'll have the show knocked out before tomorrow. There's plenty of pre-madonnas* and bad decisions seen on this show. Ollie bought headphones instead of textbooks and notebooks. Might be a good investment opportunity to open up a bookstore in Scooba and just sell flashy crap.
I might have attended 2 football games in my 2 years at EMCC. It's still hard to believe how far they have come.
I googled her after seeing the M-State wall decor in her office....
I was shocked to know that we were at the same high school together! I went back through a yearbook and I was a grade or two ahead of her, but we have a few mutual FB friends and I wonder if I knew her at some point.
I've only watched one episode but she's easily my favorite so far... I'm a married man, but probably would hitku were this not the case.

Very good documentary. Don't watch it with children in the room.
Buddy is an easy coach to hate. I understand the way that the JUCO rankings work causes you to need to beat people by as much as possible, but come on... Is there really a big difference in 48-0 at halftime and 55-0 at halftime? I get why Delta was so pissed. Cheap shots are cheap shots though, so you still have to put most of the blame for the fight on Delta.
I don't necessarily blame the EMCC kids for the way they handled the fight. They saw their teammate getting ambushed, so it's your natural reaction to go intervene. I can justify that much more than I can Buddy fighting the referee a month earlier, even if the ref started it.
Really interesting show. The film crew struck absolute gold with those two incidents taking place during the season they decided to film.
No disrespect to NWCC, but it's crazy to think that all the controversy with EMCC and Co-Lin allowed the third best team in Mississippi to win not just a state title, but a national title too.

There were several factors in play to make him want to score as much as he could on Delta and rub in in their face. 1. Bad blood between Buddy and the Delta coach. 2. They clocked one of his football managers before the game when he reached down to pickup a loose football near where Delta was warming up. Clocking resulted in 5 stitches to the face before the game. 3. The crazy JUCO ranking system incentivizes running up the score.
Perfect storm
I think that show was one of the worst things that could happen to Buddy and EMCC. Especially for the distractions it apparently caused last year. Short term gain. Long term loss.

I know that films can be edited to show anything but man John Franklin didn't look that great to me. I don't know his stats for the year but from what I saw he didn't look that great except in one game against a terrible team.
Franklin seems like a pre-Madonna if ever there was one. He got a recruiting letter from UAB and crumpled it up and threw it in the trash without opening it. "I was at Flarda State!". Yeah, you were. Now you're at East Mississippi Community College. The guys at UAB are playing D-1 football, you're not. Hate to root against a college kid, but he's hard to like.

I get the old school hard nose coaching style, but the joke he told at the rotary thing about the ******* was too much. Saying jokes like that in front of women at a rotary club meeting doesn't make you old school it makes you a jackass
1. He isn't a scientologist.
2. He doesn't coach at Co-Lin.
3. He didn't play professional football.
4. His last name isn't Hevesy.

Think about it. She's roaming the halls all day long disrupting classes, no doubt calling instructors a million times a day and otherwise being a pest while babysitting highly unmotivated athletes. If I were an instructor that would drive me bonkers. Even if she had a pleasant personality, which I have no reason to think she does not, her job duties would make her quite annoying.

Just finished it. Loved it. My take aways are:
1. Coach Stephens is a damned good head coach. If you think he cussed too much, then something has changed since I played ball. He got the penalty he deserved for that fight with the ref, but he should have NOT fought back. He is supposed to be the head guy.
2. Coach Woods needs to be our next hire at MSU.
3. The fight. Completely understand why the rest of the team joined in when a dozen or more Delta players were stomping Law. Officials should have taken control of the game early. Delta accomplished what they wanted and it was a **** job by their school and refs. EMCC should have gotten the penalty they did, but the officials and Delta team and school should have been punished very severely.
4. We could use Brittany Wagner on our staff somewhere, but you probably could not get her out of that spot easily. You can tell it is a big part of her life.
5. It's a shame Ollie is a trainwreck because he could anchor a mean *** defense. Felt bad for the kid.
6. Franklin is going to get lit up in the SEC. He can throw the ball a mile and very, very quick on his feet... but the inability to throw the finesse pass is going to be his downfall.
7. I may have to stream some of their games this year.
