Sometimes? Dude, the team scoring average was higherSometimes yes
As long as James harden is in the league I'm never gonna agree that defense is better in today's game. And there are a LOT of others who play "defense" just like him.Sometimes? Dude, the team scoring average was higher
bingo, bango, bongo!!!I think the moral of the story is all championship teams have a few great players.
Wasn't Larry like really 6'3. They shot FT's underhanded. Set shots. lol. The 80's and early 90's had no good NBA playersLeBron would murder in defense back when Bird played
Bird had a better core around him at least guys he played many years with. LBJ has taken every team and many different player to the top.
So...you proved my point. Bron has had lots of all-star caliber talent around him. Just like mike, magic, bird and so on and so on...
biggest thing with Larry is that he played so SMART. And, like most of the guys of that era, he was hungry and ambitious. He fought and worked his butt off, nothing was handed to him. And the whining stuff didn't flyBird was a badass who was owning the NBA, until injuries took a hold. There's no telling what he would have done if he stayed healthy.
I was a huge Larry Bird fan. I watched his entire career. He was great. But LeBron is clearly better. It's not hard to admit Bird was a better player than James. All this bs dreaming up excuses doesn't change that. Larry was better than most that have played the game.
They call technical fouls on players now for the same whining guys like Bird and Jordan did on a nightly basis. Bitching about calls is part of the game. All the star players do it and always have.biggest thing with Larry is that he played so SMART. And, like most of the guys of that era, he was hungry and ambitious. that's the biggest difference, IMO, between guys like Bird and this generation.

Other than defense, what area was LeBron clearly better?I was a huge Larry Bird fan. I watched his entire career. He was great. But LeBron is clearly better.
What are we excluding next? Other than free throw shooting, what area does Bird get the edge?Other than defense, what area was LeBron clearly better?
I've seen a lot of extreme LeBron hate posts before, but this one might top them all haha. Carry on.James is solid player but he doesn't have the skills, or the will to win that Larry had, and I'm not a Larry Bird fan. Bird is remembered as a great player, something Lebron will never be remembered as. He blew his shot at greatness when he voluntarily became Dewayne Wade's ***** just so that he could say he was on a championship team.

You went all kinds of stupid with this. James won't be remembered as a great player?
biggest thing with Larry is that he played so SMART
I take it you couldn't come up with a rebuttal [smoke]
Btw, I'm not a Lebron hater either. I'll root for him and his team against the Warriors but he better quit being just a good player and start leading a team to a championship. His time is running out.
Didn't he win 2 titles as the leader of his team fairly recently? Maybe I'm mistaken...
My bubble? I said LeBron got legit teammates in Miami and while Love and Kyrie are good they can't win as the first option. I had a problem with you comparing washed up players on the Cavs to McHale and Parrishbingo, bango, bongo!!!
shhhhh, don't tell chuck and witness...they can stay in their bubble...

Kyrie played Game 1 of Finals and some of ECF and Love was injured game 4 of first roundI know I'm getting d but I don't remember Love or Irving playing in the Finals last year...
The fact that you mentioned Shaq just proved you look at names and you didn't watchYes he had to drag Wade, Love, Kyrie, Marion, Shaq, Allen, Lewis, Williams, Jamison and Bosh (just to name a few of the almost 20 all stars he has played beside) kicking and screaming to the all-Star level
McHale was . Parrish wasn't near as good as he looked playing with Bird . DJ was solid as hell. Walton was an old man when he played for the Celtics.LeBron is on the team with the highest payroll in the league. Bird played with several Hall of Famers.
Rebounds, assists, clutch shots. What are we excluding next? Other than free throw shooting, what area does Bird get the edge?
I am a HUGE Bird fan. And this is absolutely accurate. Lebron can't shoot like Larry. But that's the only place he finishes 2nd.Bird had a better core around him at least guys he played many years with. LBJ has taken every team and many different player to the top.
Bird has the edge in rebounds because Bird spent way more time in the paint on defense than LeBron does. That stat is N/A in this discussion.Rebounds, assists, clutch shots.
LeBron has a slight edge in career FG percentage -- 49.8 to 49.6. Bird has a slight edge from 3-point range -- 37 to 34 -- but LeBron has made way more threes -- 1300+ to 600+. The free throw line is Bird's only clear edge.Lebron can't shoot like Larry. But that's the only place he finishes 2nd.
you are right. The fact that you mentioned Shaq just proved you look at names and you didn't watch
wasn't the comparison at age 30?Bird has the edge in rebounds because Bird spent way more time in the paint on defense than LeBron does. That stat is N/A in this discussion.
In assists, LeBron has a big edge, despite having had no one to pass the ball to for much of his career. .
You didn't even have to watch those games to know Shaq and Shawn Marion wasn't all-star players then. Don't debate something if you don't have knowledge on the situation . Resorting to man crush insults because you don't know facts is cornyyou are right.
Since, I don't have a man crush on Lebron, I haven't seen all the games he has played.
guilty as charged...
Lebron dunks and shoots layups. Larry played mostly below the rim and midrange. I don't think stats do justice to what the eyeball tells me. I love them both!LeBron has a slight edge in career FG percentage -- 49.8 to 49.6. Bird has a slight edge from 3-point range -- 37 to 34 -- but LeBron has made way more threes -- 1300+ to 600+. The free throw line is Bird's only clear edge.
