Well some of these schools actually have higher expectations of lil old Iowa..
You're hilarious. Here's the list of P4 teams that have more wins than Iowa since 2015:

1. Alabama
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
5. Oklahoma
6. Michigan
7. Notre Dame
8. LSU

Iowa is 9th.

You know who's not on that list? All the teams you claim have higher expectations.

Get bent!

I certainly agree. But there is this .....

"The Oakland Raiders fired Kiffin in 2008 "for cause", meaning the Raiders did not have to pay him the remainder of his contract. One of the reasons cited was Kiffin's lack of concern for his contract with the team."

I'm not sure what that means exactly, but maybe Miss. is going to try that approach.
It means Kiffin made public comments like ' doesn't matter if I get fired, a big school is just going to see NFL head coach'.
This guy is a fraud and a con. Never won a thing. Fired over and over. An agent and social media creation. Dude is creepy too.
Where ever the clown ends up, he will get canned.

Most outsiders believe Kiffin staying in Oxford for a 7th season is a long shot.

Behind Kiffin’s next landing spot, the second-biggest question is whether Kiffin would stick around — or be allowed to stay — to coach Ole Miss through a potential College Football Playoff berth

Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference, No. 6 CFP) does not play this weekend. The bye allowed Kiffin to meet with Florida and LSU officials..

$90 million offer? That seems hard to turn down.

Absolutely stupid to pay a coach that in this era of college football. Find a solid coach for less and use the $$ for NIL. **** you could hire the Wartburg coach, who’s really good by the way, give him 10 mill and use 80 mill toward NIL and he’s winning the national title. It’s all about how much $$ you can pay the top level players, look at Texas Tech. Those kids aren’t there because they love Lubbock TX

THIS!

Everyone always complaining about Kirk and Iowa’s medicine mentality but the FACTS say differently. We are right up there with the national champions of past years. Why in the world would anyone complain about this?

ON IOWA!

Yes, Iowa is right up there.

Here are some interesting facts about the eight (8) teams on this list, in terms of what they have accomplished since 2015:

-All 8 have made the CFP, at least once

-All except Notre Dame (who isn't in conference) have won a conference title

-7 of the 8 have had at least an appearance in a CFP national championship game

-6 of the 8 have won a CFP national championship

-Washington isn't on this list, but they have had a CFP appearance (multiple), a conference championship (multiple), and a CFP national championship game appearance since 2015.

I'm not complaining about Kirk or Iowa. But I can appreciate why Iowa gets the "mediocre" label due to the lack of championships and CFP appearance, and because it speaks to a decade of fan frustration from sitting *just* outside of this circle of elite teams.

I agree that these contracts are crazy.
However, schools are restricted to 20 million for compensating athletes so that 80 million cannot be tapped to pay players.
Texas tech has an oil billionaire paying that d-line 7 million from his pocket.

Maybe.a potential deep pocketed hawk booster could be Iowa alum mark Shapiro who is taking over as CEO of Disney early next year?
Story in WSJ this week profiled him.
He helped set up BTN. Is partners with Ari Emanuel in UFC and bull riding corp.
Big shooter.

LSU will pay him around $12 million annually across 7 seasons, with the potential for bonuses.

He would not coach Ole Miss in the postseason.

He would become the 3rd highest paid head coach.

The top 5 highest paid:

$13,282,580:...................Kirby Smart
$12,575,000:...................Ryan Day
$12,000,000:...................Lane Kiffin
$11,537,560:...................Lincoln Riley
$11,447,025:...................Dabo Swimney

Well, s.hit, he's just behind Kirby Smart at $13M per year.

And I am sure he's being 100% truthful here.

I want to manage this man's money.

I wonder how long he lasts

There was a story that the Florida AD & Lane met, where the 2 had completely different personalities and that it gave Lane a weird gut feeling so Lane pivoted to LSU. The Florida AD was reportedly worried about the drama that seems to follow Lane wherever he goes.

Also, Florida apparently will have a GM who the head coach reports to. At LSU it appears that the GM reports to the head coach.

or because their coach all of a sudden became a genius.
