The other thread on this only went 10 posts deep before people lost interest.

To recap my own input:

I'd definitely take a crack at Saban's daughter

We should hire Kiffin

Apparently we should also hire Kristen Saban:

"Saban was in the headlines in 2012, when Sarah Grimes, a sorority sister who once described herself as one of Saban’s best friends, sued Kristen, claiming Saban savagely beat her in a 2010 drunken fight prompted by a Facebook post."

Would be a home run hire.

Big time name. Big time recruits. The finest recruiting hostesses we've ever had.

I don't think he could handle the environment here. He seemed to always be right up against the line or over the line when recruiting. I could see him bringing in incredible athletes with questionable backgrounds, don't think that would turn out good.

He also makes $700,000. Not sure he even wants to leave.

Id leave to go somewhere that could double my salary.

No thanks. Good recruiter, eh coach. Hasn't done much at any of his stops and is too immature and likely still is. On a staff for his recruiting prowess fine but as the HC no way. Agree with above, too much drama for too little results.

He's not a proven winner as a head coach . So if we are going to go risky , there are less risky options

It would be a disgrace if Nick Saban's daughter couldn't fight. It's all about the physicality for the Sabans.

Did you not see my 2nd post in the thread?

When she was a student at 'Bama, Kristen Saban was in charge of the recruiting hostesses.
I did but didn't make the connection.

I like how this plan is starting to come together. We could have a new drama-magnet coach and his soon-to-be fiance, Kristen, to train our recruiting hostesses. Next time we're in the news, it'll be because one of our football players gets body-slammed by a recruiting hostess.

That would be a disaster...but of course it won't happen. He ain't coming to RU for less than 3 mill a year ..and RU isn't paying that. If by some bizarre set of circumstances he landed at RU, he would leave for a better gig within 3 years...guaranteed. He's not staying at a stepping stone job.

Record as a head coach:

Oakland: 5-15
Tennessee: 7-6
USC: 28-15

He was most successful at USC but given its reputation before he got there, it would have been difficult for him to not have a winning record. As it was, he inherited a team that went 43-9 during the four years before he arrived and he left with a 28-15 record after 3+ years. He did not exactly excel there. I've never been able to figure out why he became a "big name" coach.

If you can't go .500 at SC, you have major problems.

His wife is pretty hot. Franklin would give him a job because of it.

A .500 coach and people on here think that he would be a great hire.

The ORIGINATOR OF DEFLATE GATE.

The IQ on this board is pathetic.

.
I wouldn't judge just on that but I'd take it on a case by case basis. Before last year Mullen was, and still is, under .500 in the SEC and his overall record would have been a little over .500. I would have been perfectly happy to have him if those rumors about him were true from a couple years ago. There were some who wouldn't have liked that hire though because of those things. But to me it's Miss. St, not even the top school in it's state, and what he accomplished was pretty good considering that and where on the totem pole he is compared to the rest of the SEC. So I look at things on a case by case basis and make judgment depending on the individual circumstances. Now if you include last year he definitely looks better.

Isn't he toxic? Seems like there's always a cloud over his head.

We don't need any more of the kind of controversy he seems to generate.

I'm amazed that this discussion is still going. Do people here actually follow college football? The guy is an absolute disaster, who has never shown any actual results on the field, anywhere. And half of you are the same people saying Julie is incompetent.
