OT, Ware, Collins a very solid 3 man rotation at big. Two potential bruisers and a shot blocker. Now fill out the roster with skill players at the 1-4 and let’s go to work

That’s awesome! One that I was definitely worried about but think he can be a solid piece. Great to keep him

So we stand at 7 confirmed scholarship players:

Askew
Allen
Ware
Tshiebwe
Hickman
Hopkins
Collins

Toppin is expected to be back and Mintz is rumored to be leaning toward returning.

Am I all caught up now?

Starting five:

G - Mintz
G - Powell
G - Boston
F - Brooks
C - Oscar T

rounding out rotation: Allen, Ware, Toppin, Askew

Collins gets the Marcus Lee treatment until tourney time
Don’t sleep on Hopkins, and I’d be absolutely shocked if we didn’t add at least two more transfers. A Soph Boston would be great for the program!

Anyone else finds it odd Toppin hasn't announced coming back yet? I mean he wasn't even going to play this year and seems bought in. Or is it probably UK releasing one per day to give them their own moment. I imagine it is that, I just thought he would have been one of the first to say he was coming back. I can't see him going through the process he is too far away, but I love him being at Uk for the nxt 2-3 years.

It is just sad now we have to go through this every year. Of course he should come back. This shouldn't even be a thing. Every player shouldn't be one and done (either NBA or transfer).

That being sad, I'm glad he will return.

Send him to Kevin McHale big man camp - I like his game - needs a couple offensive moves

Cal said on his last radio show that Sarr came here with a one year plan and he expects him to stay with that.
Hope your dog is okay.I have 4 that I am crazy about.
Thanks. Beena long 48hrs. Been to the ER and vet and it was thought to be a stroke, vestibular, spinal stroke, but seems to be leaning towards the slipped disc. Now he's like his daddy, unfortunately. Going to look into chiros and acupuncture tomorrow. He is already blind and a diabetic, now this. But he got up out of the blue and walked around today albeit with a limp. He's a tough little SOB. Before it all happened he had jumped a rabbit and was trying to find it in the yard again.

I’m confused, don’t most players that average 2 pts a game and 3 rebounds return? This is the culture that Calipari created. This is bad stuff for UK.

Great
Lets hope for a big jump in his game like PJ and Nick had with the needed additional years of college play.

Askew, Allen, Ware
Jackson likely gone (but no agent yet)
Brooks and Mintz rumored to be coming back,
Fletcher gone,

Hard to be upset with that.
I know guys will improve but call me skeptical when it comes to having a warm fuzzy feeling for a team that finished 9-16 and is losing 3 of it's top 5 guys.

I take it you're counting Clarke as one of the three, along with BJ and Jackson? The problem is that Clarke never did much for us. Were not really "losing" something that isn't there. And BJ, took us out of as many games as he helped us win.

I think the added experience and Cal having time with them, in a normal season.. should fix a lot of this.

No I was counting Sarr. Clark did very little the few games he did play. I know they should be better but then again shouldn't they have been better than 9-15 this year? Maybe this team just doesn't have as much talent as we think they have. Sorry this season has turned me into a negative Nancy.

Good to see Ware back. Always played hard. Needs to improve his footwork and explosiveness. Will be a big piece of puzzle in year three.

KSR has not acknowledged this. I don't mean to say KSR is the definitive ruler on all things UK, but it's weird.

I'm not sure how "solid" this situation is.

Fans start rumors that player is going to transfer. Player denies rumors. Fans: it's a problem that they should even have to deny this rumor we started.

No speculation stealing for that first class organization. It's solid info stealing or nothing.

I'm not gonna get into the KSR is awful thing. But is this just speculation on Ware at this point?

It's weird to me that he didn't say "I'll be back," just "there's no truth to transfer rumors."

That leaves open the idea that there's no truth on March 16th, but that doesn't say anything about March 20th.

Gotcha. Have we heard from him? I'll be honest, he left a lot to be desired as well, and I think like Boston, he took us out of some games (or provided little).

Would I take BJ and Sarr back for their 2nd years, knowing full well they'd be much better? Absolutely. But I'm not convinced that we don't have several players next year, who perform better than Sarr and Boston did this year. For instance, a guy like Powell (if we get him), Oscar, Brooks, Mintz (if he returns), and I can't count out Allen, crazy as that sounds. I think Allen *could* be bigger for us next year than BJ was this year, save for a few games.

But I hear yah.. I'm also not ready to think this happens for sure next year. I'm going in with skepticism for sure.

No, Cal earned every bit of the **** he received with the 9-16 record!

If it only takes Cal one year to move to roster stability then I'm ok with that. Yes this sucked, but we knew that bill (one and done, major roster turnover annually) would come due sometime. If this trend of guys who should stay, staying, then UK can start to build a more consistent program. IMO

Good for Lance and good for UK.

1. To have Tschwiebe and Ware at Center (Ware should only need 10-14 minutes a night)
2. Collins and maybe Hopkins at PF

It is good to have combinations of length, Power and hopefully Hopkins gives us some stretch 4 ability....that is how you build a roster instead of all star team of pieces that may not fit.

He’s imperfect (we all are), but it’s hard to not like Lance Ware. He could become a really good rotation guy for us next season and beyond. Really glad he’s back. Need to build depth like this.

Good. This is what needs to be happening at UK. Players that aren't really ready for the pros need to stick it out until they are. The You're a failure if you don't go to the NBA after your freshman year mindset needs to end.

I am okay with Lance Ware transferring.. He seems like a good kid but I want somebody who is a little more polished offensively and defensively. I can’t see him being nothing more then an average bball player at UK.. I’d much rather have a grad transfer big..

Are we sure this is legit?

KSR hasn't posted about it.
Matt Hasn't talked about it on the show.

I don't think we have Ware in the bag just yet.
