Lance Ware Free Throws

Ware was doing fantastic last year when he took on his role, and then media got in his head as some sort of "enforcer/irritant" guy and he went to crap when he focused more on that nonsense then actually tough play and good minutes. He was horrendous in the Bahamas games he played, and looked awful last night. Difference is this year's team added Ugonna, and he can actually play at a level that not only does more than Ware (shot blocking specifically) but does what Ware does only with more upside.
If Cal wants to win #9, "pet Cats" (awful unintentional pun aside, talking about coach's favorites) need to be pushed aside for what is best for this '23 team.

He needs to be a Rodman-esque guy. Go in. Cause some havoc. Hit a couple of easy shots/layups.
yet we have been really good at it most of the time the last 3-4 years . Its funny when you recruit shot makers instead of shot takers how that happens. The biggest change Cal made was recruiting more SGA , Herro types and less Goodwin , Hagan types. You can take both but we have been better shooting and scoring the past few years due to this. We have 2 elite shooters on this year's teams and anothern 4-5 who are good ( Livingston , Toppin , Thiero ) to very good ( Wallace , Collins ). Shooting and free throws aren't a concern. With this team its chemistry and injuries . We have the first and avoid the 2nd or in this case get healthy by Gonzaga game we won't lose more then 3-4 games .
In regards to Ware - HE WILL NEVER EVER EVER be on the floor in crunch time. Ever. He plays tough and defends but is a HUGE LIABILITY. The worst FT shooter of the cal era . Worse then Lee.

Amen! On Sheeeray!! Worse damn no talent bball playing foo I ever seen and get 30 mins a game sometime. As faR as FTs tho Andre Riddick was worse than all of em. But Riddick could block shots 12 rows up hollering as loud as he could, and then dunk wit his head up even with square looking around like it was easy but if he got fouled it wasn't no such thing as old fashion 3 pt play with him. Riddick the Rejector and Riddick the Rejected on FT line. **** drives me crazy when D1 players can hit FTs. Especially guards though.

He’s WCS’s twin brother. Just can’t block shots. Both have zero basketball skill. Impossible to make into a polished player just like WCS.
Ugonna see him play less and less during the season.

Yes I said it because that’s exactly is. It’s gay. Intelligent self aware 5th graders know enough to know not to say it because it’s so predictable my father who was born in 1948 would get it. That’s not a place you want to be.
I don’t mind a Ware type of player as long as it’s intended for a throw away scholarship. If he’s good in the locker room and good to maybe foul out with a purpose / play a little hard up D to save a few other guys from getting fouls. It’s fine.
It’s when we’re playing a guy like that meaningful minutes that you know we’ve got a problem.
I don’t understand why Calipari doesn’t offer a few 3 star sharp shooters those scholarships. He’s just stubborn and doesn’t want them for some reason. He could easily get a few but he’s always been the guy in the room that denies them for some defensive clunkers. He’d easily have 3 titles right now (with ease) if he’d just have not bought into this nonsense and recruited a few skilled shooting basketball players to the end of his bench instead of athletes who happen to play basketball. It’s infuriating but it won’t change.
Also, why do you hate Ware and want him to catch an illness that might kill him in a few weeks? You obviously hAtE wArE?!?!?!? Hate him, wish the worst for him, and want him to fall off a flat earth.
You must hate ware in the most evil of ways. I mean really hate, wish a painful injury, then death.
I thought the same thing about the Hack a Shaq, but it won’t work with Ware. Cal would take him out and put back in the NPOTY. Opposing coaches will always want Ware in the game instead of Oscar. No way they would force Carl’s hand to take him out.
