Nice guy. Way behind anybody you’d call a news source. Don’t have time to watch this now and it may be perfectly valid, but if it is it’s his perfectly valid personal speculations. Lance Dawe does not break news.
Watch the first 10 minutes. It's more so about the SEC side of it. I am not worried about the NCAA side of it.
Burn the NCAA to the ground already. It's time to fully castrate their power. Let the power 5 conferences start their own league.
It's the NCAA desperately trying to cling to power. I believe they will fail.
We need a backup plan incase the worst happens. This is looking more unstable by the day
This is all such BS. Just grant them the 5th year every player since Covid has had and all/most lawsuits will be done. The NCAA can’t get out of their own damn way.
They allowed the monster to get out of control with extra eligibility and professional players trying to get back to their teams in some cases getting back. And now it seems like they wanna put the genie back in the bottle and flex because they know the NCAA knows is pretty clear that it’s hanging by a thread.. some type of league will probably occur outside. The NCAA may be based on conferences, but maybe not.. I mean you would think all the people that run towards the conference major conference like the Oklahomas going to the SEC for instance these programs want to be ahead of the game so that when the NCAA collapses on your own way quickly, they can start a league. I mean, everyone knows us I’m not saying anything different.. sorry I use voice to text on this one so if it’s jacked up because I have a terrible accident
No reason to worry about the ncaa. Play him anyway. Just ignore them, they’re a dying organization
The backup plan would have been signing a championship level team during normal recruiting. We were fortunate this fluky opportunity arose to get a player of Mitchell's level. Hopefully he is able to play.
Then we have to worry about SEC punishment. That’s not a way to go forward. It needs to be settled.
The SEC punishment doesn't apply to Mitchell. Mitchell is eligible based on what the SEC said makes a player ineligible. The feckless NCAA is the only potential obstacle.

In this day and age, it doesn’t appear anyone cares about that. Kinda throws the whole student athlete out the window.
This. Pope got lucky as hell that these players fell into his lap. Most teams had their roster and money spent. Whatever. If he wins, it should help recruiting. If not, on to the next one.
Might be a dumb question, but is there any reason schools/conferences still want to be under the NCAA umbrella? Is it a funding thing? Just never saw the reasoning especially now if conferences are getting so large they could theoretically just break off into their own entities
Idk. In theory I like having an organization that acts as the glue or mediator for college sports, but the NCAA seems hellbent on causing suffering as it stands now.

But there was also an opportunity there for him to get a two-way (contract). So he was trying to work for that. It was going to be between the Exhibit 10 and the two-way. But he did not sign anything. So, he’s clear. He’s good to go.”
The SEC’s statement to the Herald-Leader on Wednesday makes clear that Mitchell’s eligibility status should not be negatively affected by the league’s policy announcement Tuesday night.

And oddly coincidental, it's at a time that UK has the best two transfers ever. They've let the SEC run rampant these last two years, but now, NOW, when we have the best lineup in Pope's short tenure, they decide to start enforcing?
Not a dumb question at all imo. Just wait. Conferences will eventually split off once they realize how inept the NCAA is. Not sure why it hasn’t happened yet.

I won’t say you got “owned” like other losers on this site say. You were working with the information at that time. Now we gotta deal with the SEC to SEC transfer and not the NCAA, assuming the Louisville verdict holds up. This is just too crazy. I feel bad for the coaches, I know they make crazy money but still.

The conferences can make a governing entity. Of course they would. They don’t need the NCAA at all. It could be one with actual common sense which isn’t common anymore apparently.
For example, let’s say the BIG, SEC, ACC and I guess BIG12 make a league.You could have one or more AD’s(from each conference)to the board that makes decisions.
Imagine this team if MM went to the NBA and Mitchell isn’t allowed to play.
I do not believe it's coincidental. The transfer rule having the deadline it does is to prevent football poaching after spring practice. The entire enforcement as it applies to Mitchell, considering the circumstances, is completely bogus and an arbitrary enforcement of SEC rules meant for another sport.
Screw the SEC. Conferences won’t even be a thing ten years from now. Everyone will be doing the same thing Notre dame is because of this.
We kinda fell backwards into Momcilovic and Mitchell. Can't count on this happening every year.
