11 players potentially coming back. Who is guaranteed to leave?
Arkansas recently lost by 30 to Florida. We lost recently to Florida by single digits. Their whole team is darius acuff. They beat ole miss, bad, Oklahoma, mid and vandy which is decent to win sec tourney. Why do you cal fans continue to root for Kentucky, Arkansas can use some fan? When they lose in first two, there rounds will you be devastated?
Pope should’ve gone after about 7-8 elite players and pay them up the wazoo. The talent and substitution patterns would solve themselves. But he’s obsessed with this backwards “I wanna play a dozen players” nonsense.

Yeah promising a guy like Noah anything doesn’t make any sense. He should play when we are comfortably up 20 at the end of the game and that’s about it.
Injurred...haha. How many teams have injures let me think. All of them do. You don't see Duke, Gonzaga, Texas Tech, Arkansas crying like little girls about injuries like some of you. This team was bad before the injuries probably worse. It did have a back up PG that would have been nice to have but Pope kept adding players and he said the math doesn't make sense on playing time so he left. That is Pope fault. 100% his fault. I don't really see how someone of you are this dumb.
And it is not just roster construction, he messes up coaching situations, subs the wrong people together and at the same time causing matchup issues. After our early exit last week at sec, we were the talk of the tournament in a not so good way. Some of you live in a Pope bubble, but most fans from other teams were so happy we are where we are. They were so happy to see us fail over and over this year. A couple of meaningless wins won't change this disaster one little bit for me.
I know his family and he was paid a substantial amount and promised a significant role that Pope didn't honor

When cal can coaches us last 5 years how many tourney games did we win? Was it a huge success. This year hasn't went the best, having one pg was dumb yes and we had bad luck with injuries and the jq was a huge miss. If we end up with tons of injuries and misses next year I'll be more of a critique. This year has been bad luck and wrong players for the system.

Coach cal was right? We lost the Evansville, unc Ashville, Richmond etc Oakland. Sorry he wasn't. Oats or pearl aren't either...
Acuff was injured a lot still is a little. Karter Knox out most of the last month and half with knee injury. I think he is looking to go to UK on the JQ plan. Others missed time. But Cal didn't start out with 13 players either. So most of their roster plays over 30 minutes a game and somehow finds a way to avid fatigue.
Pope needs to stop promising roles to guys who don’t need them. Only 4-5 guys need any kind a promise of time a year if that. Everyone else plays on who earns it.

You defend cal and you even know their roster. Yeah I won't like being blown out but we were getting beaten by the evansvilles unc Ashville of the world with cal. Dude cannot coach.
I said pope recruiting this year didn't pan out. Not having a pg or back up pg you can blame on most of offensive woes. I didn't want pope when we first hired him but as of now I'm seeing what type of roster he can put together and if it stays healthy. I'm not gonna quit after going to the tourney two years in a row with a banged up roster.
You act like we need to get these same 11 guys back. If we do it will be Popes last year so I guess that is a good thing. But the fact you seem to think it is a good idea to get these 11 guys back is how shall I say this, telling as to your knowledge of the game.

I never said that but until they transfer they are still here. As a freshmen you look at potential roster, you see 11 players and what do you think? Yeah sign me up, lol no. They think about pt.
For anyone to have faith in Pope is surprising to me at this point. Obviously recruiting didn't pan out this year but it all has to put at the foot of Pope. He over recruited people and ran out our only backup PG. Pope's fault. He got too many people therefore eliminating the truly top shelf player that expects to play 30 plus minutes a game. Pope's fault. Paid big money for a cancer causing situation with a player and his family and the player was injured.
There are more roster issues but let's discuss injuries. When Kam and Lowe got injured we played better. That is no fluke. Lowe can't play defense or shot but he is a better passer running the offense. But with him in DA was out. DA got better and gave us a different dimension with a big physical PG that could play great defense. He shot better overall I believe than Lowe would have. Kam if in takes minutes from Owe and Chandler. Chandler was playing poorly at the beginning of the year so he never evolves without a chance to make mistakes either. Overall the injuries might have helped some in some areas but in other areas not so much. I think we can all agree we were better at the end with less players than the beginning with everyone available. If he runs it back with 13 players it will be another terrible year and hopefully his last.
Nope. I just don’t think we had a great season and am unwilling to excuse it all away due to injuries. You can resume your breakdown now.
How do you know anything about what promises were or were not made?
Maybe because he and UK could have been potentially in a better position had he come here? He can see what he was able to do with Indiana and it was worse than we did even without him?

No pg, no back up pg. The jq experiment didn't pan out. I'm just not gonna go with the pissed at life group or the Arkansas fans. If we suck next year I'll come back and be a critique. After making the tournament two years in a row, and having injuries, I'll still wait and see. If the injuries happen again I'll think it's who he is recruiting so yeah. I believe he can still turn it around and wouldn't want NBA Calipari back, unless he retires and comes back that way in the crowd.

You don’t think Pope has to make promises to get people to play for him? Look at how bad he recruits, every coach makes some kinds of promises to get recruits. Even Calipari. Based on who he continues to play together and for long stretches he obviously guaranteed about 10 guys they would play this year. He would play 12 if he could.
If Noah returns (and I believe he will) it’s because Pope won’t tell him what he is worth to UK. Bare minimum NIL and no minutes unless it’s cigar time.
