Lamar obviously never heard the saying “a person who represents himself has a fool for a client”. He made the business decision to sit out of the last part of the season and now he wonders why GMs are reluctant to make him a guaranteed offer? He’s a fool IMO who has over played his hand.
I also think he is a fool and any GM that "hires" him is a fool. I guarantee he will never play in a Super Bowl let alone an NFC or AFC Championship game.. hell, he might not win a single playoff game ever. I'd let him fall flat on his face.. Sorry, he did it to himself.
I've honestly been in favor of dropping him from the start. His contributions have been great, but his fragility doesn't help him. His arm has improved, but he's still a fragile paper tiger
The problem is that you have to mortgage your future for an oft injured guy who has proven he’s difficult to deal with. Just because the Browns lost their mind doesn’t mean somebody else should on another over priced QB.

The ravens have plenty of time to trade him for a high draft pick and get a new quarterback on a rookie deal. That’s what they secretly want IMO. They are trying to not look bad in the process.
Has he ever had a #1 WR? Nope. Not even close. He’s had a top tier TE and a bunch of WR 3s @ best. So when you say “average passer @ best” ask yourself whose he throwing it to? Cause it’s not like hes hold the WRs down. All those guys played elsewhere too and weren’t very good their either. Hollywood was probably his best guy he’s had and he was way over shadowed by Hopkins in AZ.
How many number one receivers wanna play with a guy that does not have the complete skill set to make the throws that you need to make at the NFL level. Is he good on the timing routes? I see a guy that can sit back in the pocket and hit guys in rhythm consistently or does he have to make the hero play so the player breaks down and he scrambles and then finds an open guy and that’s their base package? Hollywood his best receiver probably wanted out because he couldn’t get stats to get paid.
Putting all that guaranteed money in escrow is going to be a challenge for a team without an owner.
Not officially but his mom handles most of the work. At least she used to. I honestly think that is the biggest holdup for him. Teams are used to working with a professional agent and negotiating with a mom and player is probably frustrating and a little scary.
